Should he be given credit for how the defense is performing? Getting sacks, forcing turnovers, looking alot better than at the start of the season. Or should we be giving credit to the watermelon smashing?

For real though, has he done enough now to be retained for next season?

Imo if hes bought back it would have to be on a 4 game basis after 4 games if it looks like it was then let him go

You really gotta take that first half of the season into consideration it was bad i mean nfl history bad

Im not a Nolan defender by any means, but maybe this is what the defense would have looked like under a normal offseason.

I have been hard on Nolan. I have to go on his past results, he's been bad but with that said, the team has improved on Defense. The players haven't given up on him and a lot of guys have been hurt. It's sort of difficult to judge. It seems like guys are doing better things, playing hard, getting better. I like to see resiliency like that.

why are people want to talk themself into mike nolan so bad he stinks unless the cowboys magicly turn into a super defense and win the super bowl he gotta go

mid season i was 100% team fire Nolan. I think i still havent had a full change of heart, but lets see how it plays out. What if this defense plays well again next week against a bad Giants team? What if they host a playoff game, and this defense continues to get turnovers?

I'm not ready to say bring back Nolan, but i am at a point where ill see how we end the year before making a decision.

We still can't consistently stop the run.
This, he has offseason the draft picks , trades, etc etc, if we are still bottom of run on D after x amount of games into next season, he is the weakest link and goodbye.*

*Nobody knows how Jerruhs mind works......

Nolan needs to go, don’t fall for it. Beating bad team's.

You may be right, but this defense has been about as good as you could expect over the last 3 weeks, and had some other really solid games the back half of the season. If they can keep it up next week, and get lucky to host a playoff game i'd be interested in seeing how that plays out. IF Nolan can keep this unit playing at a high level, this defense with a legit 1T and a true FS brought in over the offseason would be worth keeping an eye on.

For the record, I was 100% on board with releasing Nolan and now I'm taking a wait and see approach because of how this defense has responded. Still suck vs the run but generating turnovers wins you games.

Football fans can be so schizophrenic.

Whether it comes to players or coaches.

That’s what makes it great week to week.

Best game ever.

NFL football.

are y’all really letting this man trick y’all?. He’s not a good DC. Again, these turnovers aren’t really a product of his terrible defense. It’s players actually making plays on the ball, which Marinelli and Richard criticized and shunned. Their just playing to their instincts now. Nothing Nolan is doing is helping this team. He needs to go.

So Marinelli and Richard get the blame for when this team didnt get turnovers because of their coaching style, but Nolan cant get any credit? I get not being sold on Nolan yet, but lets be fair to the man. This is his scheme they are running, and have put together 3 pretty good performances.

Love that we are finally getting turnovers. Last three weeks we lead the nfl.

However Nolan is still absolutely horrible. Cant stop the run and offenses still put up tons of yards and points. Cincy, nines, and Eagles have terrible offenses. Still cant stop good teams.

“3 pretty good performances” lmao. Against the Bengals, 49ers, and Eagles. What a performance, huh :lmao2:? So what happened to his defenses against moderately good teams, huh? The Browns? Washington? Giants? Ravens? Where was this turnover prone defense then?

3 game win streak for the Dallas Jerry's and not one of those wins is against a team with a winning record.
