Mike Nolan >?

Over the full season I’d agree, but I won’t say end of story. The first half for this defense was embarrassing, but you look at the last 8 games or so and you think this defense is worse? Really ever since the cardinal game I think they’ve been getting better and better. If they play well next week and have a good playoff performance I could get on the Nolan train. Still haven’t bought a ticket, but to say anything is a done deal right now seems foolish.
Our Linebackers play too far off the line of scrimmage in Nolan's defense. Its no wonder that teams run all over us. There is no way can I defend Nolan when we will give up the most points this year in team history. Look at Nolan's resume. He has always produced less with more.

If they can keep forcing turnovers. Then I wil be happy.

And shore up the run defense.

But forcing more turnovers is the most important thing.

I have to believe that the change in coaching has something to do with increase in forced turnovers.

Should he be given credit for how the defense is performing? Getting sacks, forcing turnovers, looking alot better than at the start of the season. Or should we be giving credit to the watermelon smashing?

For real though, has he done enough now to be retained for next season?

If we beat four bad teams in a row, he will probably be given a reprieve. If he's brought back, though, we've got to give him better defenders to work with. I would be fine with moving on and would probably prefer it, but these past few games are what Nolan's defenses are designed to do, create turnovers.

The questions are whether his defense can do that against better teams and how much improvement could it show with better personnel next year. I don't want to go through another season where the defense is a liability against good teams.

Gave up over 400 yards to a Rookie QB yesterday and, while I am happy to see us win, we beat the Eagles. I mean, it's not exactly like we are beating playoff teams. Our last 4 wins were over the Vikings (6-9), The Bengals (4-10), the 49ers (6-9 but 2-6 over their last eight) and Philly (4-10-1).

I think it's all relative....

No.
