Mike Nolan >?

I’ve ripped him up and down but he made the right adjustments after those first two Eagles drives.

“3 pretty good performances” lmao. Against the Bengals, 49ers, and Eagles. What a performance, huh :lmao2:? So what happened to his defenses against moderately good teams, huh? The Browns? Washington? Giants? Ravens? Where was this turnover prone defense then?
I get it, but you have a defense trending up, one more game to evaluate, possibly more. What happens if this defense holds A team to under 20 points in the playoffs? I’m just saying let’s keep an open mind, and let’s at least give Nolan credit when he deserves it.

So Marinelli and Richard get the blame for when this team didnt get turnovers because of their coaching style, but Nolan cant get any credit? I get not being sold on Nolan yet, but lets be fair to the man. This is his scheme they are running, and have put together 3 pretty good performances.
Nolan changed marinelli's defense and made it worse. End of story.

Should he be given credit for how the defense is performing? Getting sacks, forcing turnovers, looking alot better than at the start of the season. Or should we be giving credit to the watermelon smashing?

For real though, has he done enough now to be retained for next season?
His defense is still giving up A LOT of yards. No.

Trending up? Look at the statistics and get back to me lol.

Over the full season I’d agree, but I won’t say end of story. The first half for this defense was embarrassing, but you look at the last 8 games or so and you think this defense is worse? Really ever since the cardinal game I think they’ve been getting better and better. If they play well next week and have a good playoff performance I could get on the Nolan train. Still haven’t bought a ticket, but to say anything is a done deal right now seems foolish.

Still need to fire Nolan unless we somehow go on a playoff run. This team is not stopping the run and some aspects of the defense have gotten worse. It's not Nolan's coaching ability that has Gregory sacking the QB. We all knew Gregory could do that. It's the NFL's for lifting their asinine weed rule.

The defense has been a lot better recently but they still blow too many plays.

Wait until if we make the playoffs. The nonsense will end after the wild card

We still can't consistently stop the run.

and we gave up nearly 500 yards to philly and rookie Hurts

thank doug Pederson for stop running the ball vs our defense .. that helped a lot !

No, he shouldn't come back. This has been a historically bad defense this year. The excuse that he didn't have a preseason to get the defense in working shape is insane. It would be an excuse if the Cowboys were the only team not to have a preseason.

i do not believe he is worth keeping as DC. Not buying the "improved" defense at all, they still give up tons of yards and the only change the last three weeks is they have played weak teams who have turned the ball over to the Cowboys. I hope now that they do win their division and go up against a real football team and see what kind of defense the Cowboys really have. Jones is probably thinking Nolan deserves to stay now.

No coordinator could with these DTs. They were getting knocked 3 yards backward on almost every run play.

This defense needs talent, not a new scheme every year.

Has to come back, the main reason we have won the last 3 games is the DEF finally buying into his scheme. Let him get the players he needs now.
His experience showed today

Gregory was using the exact same technique to rip the ball out that the other defenders use. He is just more powerful.

The inside out move he put on for one of those sacks wasn't something I'd seen him do before. Sure his quickness that made it possible but the coaches definitely deserve credit for that as well.

Further he has been out of football for two seasons and has played very well. The coaches deserve some credit for that as well.

I am not sold on Nolan either because I do not feel that his scheme fits the one gap players that we have. At the same time you can tell some of the things that the coaching staff has been teaching them like breaking on the ball for picks has been working.
