Eh. The eagles reportedly had one two years ago and ended up winning the SB. Not saying we’re gonna win the SB, but let’s not act like a players only mtg is the nail in the coffin.

And did the Giants in 2007 after dropping the first 2 games. They were rebelling against Coughlin’s drill sergeant style.

It never fails when someone points out a general rule that holds most of the time you will get the midwit army to come in and point out exceptions as if that invalidates the entire concept.

One meeting after a bad loss? That's not automatically alarming. It can be a sign that the players still care enough to confront the problem.

If nothing improves or there is another meeting in 5 or 6 weeks, that is another story.

I'm not sure what a players only meeting will resolve. Especially the defense. Guys getting pushed back 10 yds off the line of scrimmage, linebackers getting carried 5-6 yds by ball carriers and DBs standing still watching WRs blow past them for 40 yd gains CAN'T be resolved by talking about it. They're overmatched physically AND they don't know what to do. Holding hands and having each others back only goes as far as the next screwup. It's like the defensive scheme was written in Chinese and no one can read it. Completely clueless. The coaching is bad and there's no leader on D

..the moment I heard 3-4 defense....I was skeptical. Gap and a half control...even more skeptical. Trying to stop the run with 6 guys up front...and 2 of them are undersized...Good luck with that...just amazes me this team just keeps trying to reinvent the wheel.

The whole thing is such a mess. Who knows? GB will be the litmus test. Will we keep killing ourselves or will we actually put up an effort. After that stone is set.

its my understanding it was the defense that had the meeting.
for some reason,nationally...that part is being left out.
cowherd did the same thing.
tomlin was on the kelce brothers podcast and they made it seem like all the players were involved and didn't mention it was the defense only.
at least in the clips that are being shown.

but the media is being a little dishonest in how they are covering it.

It’s certainly the earliest “players only” meeting I can remember. But like Tomlin said why did it need to be known? I would think they would say something about it after they go into GB and win.

Parker is a young guy, he's only 34... It might be difficult for some of the players to view him with the respect that they would with an older, more seasoned coach.

It's definitely not a good sign for this coaching staff, at the very least.
