Mike Vrabel as our next DC?

I'd be all for this and I guess most people think it's an obvious choice--- which means Jerry will do something different and continue to try to force a square peg in a round hole---hoping one day he is right about something and can bask in the glory of being a 'football guy'.

who's with me?

Why does anyone think he would take demotion to DC under McCarthy when he can play golf and get a full years salary from Tennessee? I’m genuinely interested in why people think this way

Because they can pay him a tick under MM and the sales pitch is "unless we go to the NFCC next year, you'll be in the catbird seat to be our next HC"

He's not going to be a HC this year anyway, so why not build the resume? I 100% guarantee a guy as intense as Vrabel does not want to play golf and chill for a year.

More I think about it, hope it happens.

I like Vrabel. Not a very good coach, but I liked him as a player. For DC it's a step down.

He's not coming in as a DC

We should have hired Fangio when he was available but Quinn taking forever to decide screwed us over.

Opinions? Yay? Nay? I know Joe Whitt is the first name people are thinking of if Al Harris follows Quinn as he said he would. But I'm wondering if there's any interest in Vrabel.
I don't think anyone with a name or past success would work under McCarthy. That is the problem.

Why would Vrabel want to be the Dallas Cowboys’ DC? The notion that being employed by the Dallas NFL franchise is desirable is a fantasy. Vrabel is still being paid his HC salary by the Titans. Why wouldn’t he wait until a job he’d like opens up and pursue it? He’s not going to go slumming at this point in his coaching career.

I think he would be great as the head coach.
Would live to see McCarthy get stabbed in the back....just like he screwed Kellen. Have a defensive coordinator.....undermine him every step of the way....

So you’re suggesting incentivizing Vrabel as DC to not make the NFCC so he can become the head coach? On Jerry’s dumbest day even he would not come up with such a stupid idea.

even if Vrabel comes, and , sweeps a lot of you off your feet, do you think he has the time, and has control to get some people in and players that he ll need in a measley few weeks? plus knowing how Dallas drafts and our off seasons, what makes you think hes looking at that and saying "wow, i can make it in DAllas"

I don't see why he would take a demotion. You'd think he'd be near the front of the line for HC jobs next year. Take a year off or do some TV.

I mean chances are he takes over for Mike and boosts his resume up in Dallas.
