When was that? Just curious.
After the Seattle playoff game, he was asked why we were staying in base 3-4 defense against 4 receivers sets, and he shook his head, had a look of disgust, and just said "I couldn't tell ya." He was implying he wasn't calling the plays, and the playcalling made no sense to him.

Zimmer is a great coach.

But his time here was done.

Is he relevant now? I'm not sure. If he has learned the ability to teach and coach up youngsters he may be a viable solution, but for now I don't think he would be better than Kiffin and Marinelli.

What's the real difference between "bend and don't break" of Tampa 2 from the "read and react" of Campo/Zimmer era?

They both give up yards if you don't have the talent.

OK. I've never heard or read anything other than BP had a lot of respect for Zimmer and visa versa, When I think of throwing someone under the bus, I think of Zimmer and Petrino.

Parcells never really trusted Zimmer (no experience in the 3-4) and Zimmer didn't like being forced to switch. He was more than happy to be out of Dallas.

I'm still holding out hope that Jerry reconsiders, much like Tennessee just did with Munchick. :)

However my only problem with Zimmer is Deion loves this guy. And I have grown to hate Deion.

Don't know about any of that. What we do know is that Zimmer could have left when Parcells was hired but interviewed to stay on. It was rumored he was offered the Nebraska job and turned it down and he stayed until Parcells left.

No it isn't, I'm still a GROZ fan. Let's get new blood in here, not people that Jerry is comfortable with.

Just saw a terrific piece on Mike Zimmer on ESPN.

What a terrific message and what a terrific coach we once had but becuz of Parcells and the 3-4..

..he was let go.

Big mistake.

Jerrah..

For once..make the right moves and bring him back to Dallas as our HC.

And his son.

Hell no. No no no.

And how, pray tell, does Jones bring in a coach who is under contract with another team???

I thought you guys would like this thread.

GROZ..

just the letters bring up sweet memories of derision and denial..

sort of like now with Garrett.

..I think its time to start the petition on getting Garrett out of town on a wooden rail.

Listen..

Jerrah is involved in everything from jocks to sox.

So darned right Jerrah let him go.

;-)

Glad we got that important fact circled now.

So Jerry is responsible for 3 super bowl wins? Since he's involved in everything from jocks to sox?

Yes..

and Jerrah is also guilty of intentionally trying to circumvent the salary cap and we got penalized $10 mil on our cap and hurt our team quite a bit..

..its one of the reasons we had no money for DL this last off-season..

Probably destroying any chance of being competitive.

Same Jerrah.

Not really but if that is what you want to believe fine.

Not the real reason but whatever.

Zimmer wasn't the problem when he was here. Rob Ryan wasn't the problem. Wade Phillips as dc wasn't the problem. Monte Kiffen isn't the problem now. Dallas has consistently had accomplished and respected defensive coordinators in the last 15 years, but has had the same problems with the ends of games and the ends of seasons. It's because there's a talent deficit on this roster, and there has been since the early '90s. There's decent enough top end talent, but the depth is not there on the defensive side of the ball, especially up the middle. Any one of those DCs was/is good enough to win a championship. The roster, however, is not.

You mean guys like Brady James, Roy Williams and Terrance Newman were not enough? Ratliff and Bobby Carpenter couldn't make it happen?

Say you don't mean it.

Just kidding
