Mike Zimmer on SS Roy Williams: 'I think we can take advantage of all his strengths'

Everybody agrees that SS Roy Williams never fit well in Wade Phillips' 3-4 scheme. Or Bill Parcells' 3-4 scheme, for that matter.
The Bengals believe that Williams can still be a force in Mike Zimmer's 4-3. Well, at least they believe enough to sign him to a short-term, incentive-laden deal.
"Roy had his best years when we were together in Dallas," Zimmer said in a team-issued release, per Pro Football Talk. "I think we can take advantage of all his strengths in our [4-3] scheme. I don't think the scheme in Dallas fit him quite as well when they switched to a 3-4, but he still went to the Pro Bowl in 2007."
Of course, anybody who watched the Cowboys knows that Williams' performance in 2007 didn't merit a Pro Bowl berth.
Nevertheless, Zimmer thinks he can get Williams back to being a hard-hitting, run-stuffing, fumble-forcing beast.
"Roy is a big hitter, a very tough player who lends a physical presence to a defense, and he makes plays," Zimmer said.

By some of your guys's logic, Priest Holmes and Mike Brown are still really good football players. They both havn't done squat in 3 years, so Priest and Mike Brown have to still be a great football player right?
Hos said he still thinks Roy is a good player in the thread about him signing with the worst team in the afc.tomson75;2766941 said:This is exactly the kind of crap that got every Williams "apologist" to respond to these asinine threads.
Please, be kind enough to direct me to ONE post by a member here that says they still think Roy Williams is "really good". Just one. I'll wait.
That's not OUR logic, that's YOUR logic that you have projected, and a textbook case of what caused these threads to get heated.
