Mike Zimmer should be fired.

how come Newman wasn't covering moss on those two touchdowns vs the Commanders?

how come Newman wasn't covering brandon lloyd in his long touchdown?

and worst of all *** was Demarcus Ware doing lined up against Randy Moss? who happened to make a 70+ yard catch who was tackled by the very fast terence newman.

Zimmer should never have been kept by Parcells. He is not a 3-4 coordinator.

I felt our defense played well yesterday considering who we played. Our run defense is getting worse, which has me scratching my head, but overall we played well.

Zimmer doesn't deserve the blame for yesterday, but he sure as hell hasn't helped this team over the years.

I agree, but disagree. He should be fired. Hopefully we can get Dom Capers to coordinate our D next year. But Brandon Lloyd wasn't our chief concern, and Bill was the one who decided to put Newman in the slot. I don't know why Ware was on Moss, that was just silly. But I pretty much blame whatever is lacking in the pass rush entirely on Zimmer. I have a feeling if Mike Nolan, or Dom Capers, or Romeo Crennel had been coordinating this defense we would be getting the kind of pressure on the quarterback that few teams dream of.

We also had Ware covering McCardell on one of his TDs in week 1.

That's some crazy scheming if you ask me.

I've never been one for "firing all the coaches" but when you see what Greg Williams is doing with those no names in Washington, I'm jealous.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Paul Pasquloni(sp) a 3-4 coach when he was HC at Syracuse. I'm in favor of shifting Pasquloni in at def coordinator and firing Zimmer if the defense does not improve. We actually have talent this year and I think they are not being put into a position to succeed. The blitz schemes are so unimaginitive and I think a new DC may just do the trick.

ya i was very very surprised to see that he was still teh dc when we switched to 3-4. Should be his last year hopefully.

So its up to Zimmer to figure out which WR is about to score and put Newman on him bvefore it happens?

No...it's up to Zimmer to put our best guy on their best guy.

Simple, really.

Zimmer is part of that Dave Campo, Butch Davis, Dave Waanstedt crew which believed "the scheme rules all" and damn trying to use special players on defense with the lone exception of putting the strong safety in the box. It didn't matter that the scheme would leave Deion Sanders covering the TE while Darrin Smith covers Jerry Rice in the slot. Sheesh. Once the powerful Triplets-led offense declined and we started spending more money on defense, that dumb defensive scheme should have been abandoned.

Instead we bought into the over-inflated _yardage-based_ top-ten numbers that D posted and Jones overpaid Zimmer with a silly extension just before Parcells signed on. That #1 statistical ranking in 2003 was the worst thing that could have happened to us, because it lent fals credibility to Zimmer.

That whole season was the worst thing that could have happened to us.

Yeah, let's fire Zimmer for holding the Raiders to 19 points on their home field. And the Eagles should fire their D-Coordinator because they let the Raiders score 20 in their own house.

Some of you guys are regular comedians.

Why does Zimmer's boss escape blame? You guys not willing to point fingers in the right direction?

Yep...everyone deserves blame. Even Parcells.

When you keep an idiot you have to be responsible for what that idiot does. Simple as that, really.

The 3-4 is what put Ware on the slot, his job was to jam and re-route the WR HE WAS NOT COVERING MOSS!

It is what is going to happen if you stay 3-4 and they go 3 wide. The slot is going to have LB and safety coverage.

:hammer:

Thank you for explaining that. Ware screwed up because he did not jam Moss hard enough, he just softly touched him, allowing Moss to run his route properly!!! It was Ware that did not do his job!!!

Instead of just blaming Zimmer for everything, how about asking someone in the organization why we have only 3 safeties on the roster, and 2 of them are SS. Keith Davis stunk yesterday. He is not a FS and should not be starting. Davis is terrible in coverage and teams are getting him to bite on double moves. If our FS was better, we could put Roy up in the box, where he belongs.

ya seriously where the hell is N jones at. I didnt see him filling in at all for Davis, and Davis is still biting and getting burned over and over.

Let's see. Zimmer's D kept Moss from having a huge day. Sure that long pass hurt the numbers but Moss was contained for the rest of the day. Lamont Jordan got off and that was a shame but the Raider's O didn't beat us. A lack of offensive execution did. When your O isn't firing right you should be lucky to win any games -- stop expecting Zimmer to win games with the D.
