Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Paul Pasquloni(sp) a 3-4 coach when he was HC at Syracuse. I'm in favor of shifting Pasquloni in at def coordinator and firing Zimmer if the defense does not improve. We actually have talent this year and I think they are not being put into a position to succeed. The blitz schemes are so unimaginitive and I think a new DC may just do the trick.

:hammer:

not sure if Pasq is the answer but we know Zimmer ain't

Zimmer may be a decent X's and O's coach, but he doesn't seem to have a very good feel for the game. I think since the switch to the 3-4, he spends a lot more of his time on his players/schemes and leaves the scouting work to the assistants. The nhe has his coaches meetings, gets the input from the assistants and tries to gameplan.

I am all for Zimmer being fired. He just sucks. But I think there are other problems just as big or bigger then Zimmer.

These problems would include our whole team looking totally unprepared every game.

Same stupid play not to lose garbage that causes us to lose or nearly causes us to lose.

Seeing the talent on this team getting wasted and not improving.

Garbage coaching and game planning from both sides of the ball and from Parcells himself.

The whole coaching staff is a concern not just Zimmer.

Why does Zimmer's boss escape blame? You guys not willing to point fingers in the right direction?

Perhaps BOTH are culpable not an either/or either direction ?

I've said this 1000 times ever since we drafted Kevin Burnett. We should have trade our 2nd and next years 4th to the eagles for their 2nd and next years 5th. this way we could have moved up and taken Brodney Pool. On dallascowboys.com it seemed like they were very high on Pool and I really wish they would have taken him as a sooner fan. He has incredible leaping ability and is very good in coverage. this guy was supposed to be a top 25 pick and dropped down to the second round. i was very dissapointed when cleveland grabbed him.

And if you take away that one huge catch from moss then he didn't really have that great of a day.

Has it ever dawned on Zimmer that if he had blitz Ware on that play while Moss was going deep than the QB probably wouldn't have had the time to throw deep?

We didn't draft Ware so he can do love taps with the other teams top recievers right? He's here to obliterate blockers and to get to the QB as fast as possible. Maybe if we had made that the #1 priority for Ware he would be every-ware rather than no-ware.But because Zimmer have made it quite difficult for him to learn the defense, Ware is hesitant and lost, and seems out of place.

So far Zimmer just doesn't get it. He needs to devise blitz packages to allow Ware to get to the passer. Screw this scheme of X and Os which just confuses our defense more than it does the opponents.

I thought I saw Ware blitz from that same formation later in the game. They were mixing it up.

Why do people think that you can blitz every down?

And when you "walk" Ware out to cover Moss you're making it that much further he has to go to reach the QB in a blitz situation AND the best part is that Moss STILL hasn't been touched off the line of scrimmage.
