News: Miles Sanders out for the season

The front office should be looking for help at RB. Not that I felt good about Sanders, but we are 1 wrong fall away from having a Blue, Davis, Luepke backfield

Is there something wrong with that?

I bet you were one of the many that was saying our backfield was utter trash before the season started also.

You could be spot on about Mafah's abilities, and fit for this scheme. I just want to know who's who, no going into next year with questions about these RBs, play them all.
so we should Mafah and Blue some of Williams touches?

Maybe look at a swap for a WR hangry team that has a back available?

Make Tolbert available with Mingo coming back.

Losses to the Eagles and Bears. Possibly the tie to the Packers as well which could have been a win with better RB group.
wait.... the offense put up 37 points in regulation, and you think we could have won had we had better RUNNING BACKS? You mean like Saquon? lol

well damn, I bet the Lions would give us Gibbs if we waved Tolbert in front of them. And people complain about our FO....smh

In key moments where being able to punch the ball in on the ground inside the Red Zone against the Packers, instead of settling for a tie, would have definitely helped with a better RB group. Same goes for loss against the Eagles and possibly the Bears as well.

i suspect Cowboys will seek vet help from outside, and may elevate the likes of RB Phil Mafah or Malik Davis

Do we want another big pounder bell cow ..or a bit more speed type in case Blue gets dinged and injured ..?

When is Mafah due back?
yes, I would rather have mafah than blue, he is a power runner, which fits our offense better.
Blue is easily tackled. He might be good in that end around play, but they havent used him in any speed designed plays, which is strange.

Well damn, if thats the case, hving the 90s offensive line would be much better than our current group. Having Roger Staubach would be a huge improvement at QB, or maybe having a defense that could make a stop would have helped also.

Then you must’ve been too busy posting in the game chat. He showed some burst, held up his end in pass blocking and understood what he was supposed to be doing.
You must be referring to his first carry, that awesome 6-yard run because the next three carries yielded a combined 1 yard.

He's exciting to watch as a kick returner but he looked tentative every time he got the ball on offense. He would take too long to commit. He didn't look to have much power, if any. He didn't just get tackled, her was tossed around like a rag doll.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to succeed, of course. However, even though he is a RB, he needs a little development.

Jayden Blue seems like one of those RBs that has track speed but lacks the instinctive qualities of a RB.

I think it will take another season before we see real productivity from him. The elite RB typically display their talents in their rookie season but i have known of some that need a year to acclimate to the pro game.

I'm not trying to belittle Blue, I hope he has a very successful career with the Cowboys. I'm also no expert in player analysis, I'm just basing my opinion on the observations of a longtime fan that has seen dozens of RBs pass through the Cowboys rosters.

Our starting and backup Oline is doing great! Problem has been the choice of gameday active RBs. That is where Schotty has messed up, and it has cost us, especially with our Defense not helping much at all these first 5 games. We have the horses, but Schotty decided to keep the bigger talents in the stable. Costly mistake.
