Mincey: Tension grew in Cowboys locker room with Greg Hardy

Good thing he didn't say **** all year and waited the for the season to end and Hardy's contract to expire before he opened his mouth. What a leader.

Hardy was so upset about losing and the team not performing that he showed up late for meetings.

Makes sense.

Should they move on from Hardy or Mincey, considering it's Mincey that is trying to air 'dirty laundry'... Talk about a guy claiming to be about the team and not a cancer...

It's interesting if you take a few factors into account.

1) In 2016, this DE spot on the roster will very likely either go to Hardy or Mincey. My opinion is that we will not have both of these guys.
2) On the field, Hardy is a far better player.
3) Off the field, MIncey is a safer bet.
4) Mincey wants to be here next year.
5) If a player is fighting for a spot with another player and cannot compete from a football standpoint, it makes sense to highlight off field factors to get a leg up in the competition.

Short version? Mincey has plenty to gain from Hardy not coming back. Specifically a roster spot. Its fair to consider that Mincey is not being entirely objective with his statements.

You're right... All Defensive guys need to be respectful and nice guys. Ask Charles Haley.....

The amazing Mike Fisher was on yesterday morning on 105.3 The FAN. He was asked about the Mincey/Hardy topic. He said Mincey and Hardy are the closet two d-lineamn on the team but both are looking for a contract with the Cowboys and both know what is on the line.

Both provide leadership -- Mincey by actions and words and Hardy by example -- and it will come down to which player the Vowboys would prefer to have in the locker room. Mincey says and does all the right things in the locker room but does not produce on the field. Hardy does few things right in the locker room but was arguably the best d-lineman.

We will all find out soon which player the Cowboys prefer.

Good point

I frankly tell Mincey that he and his 0 sacks for the season can go find another team....regardless of what we do with Hardy.

"Yeah, it definitely grew," Mincey said. "I hate it happening. You're talking about a team that was so close knit and tight and then all of the sudden, it's just different.

And some folks chemistry is a "mirage", or "overrated"

That's the problem. JGarrett thinks bonding and trips to the 911 Memorial wins games. They don't.

It is talent and coaching. I don't care if my DL like each other. They are supposed to be mean cusses that want to kill the QB. Maybe Mincey and Hayden have great chemistry but their production is why we brought in Hardy and his problems and RGregory and his problems.

Go sing Kumbaya on the OL.

I don't think chemistry is about being chummy... I think its about leadership, focus, and the ability to have a common mind on the field.
Being close knight helps of course, but obviously talent and leadership is first... it keeps the strays focused, & in line.

I just don't like him reminiscing on 2014 like it was some kind of success for the DL. It was a good year for him but that was about it.
