Mingo vs Tolbert

Who are you taking???? This is what it appears may be the lock for wide out #3!! Tolbert was our leading WR for touchdowns last season, but I think Mingo has done some good things so far in practice, hopefully that can be transferred to the games!! Please give your thoughts

Mingo, all day. Tolbert sucks unless the defense doesn’t cover him.
Even in camp, I haven’t seen him finding and fighting for the ball. Whenever one of the 3 QBs throws an INT, Tolbert is usually around about 50% of the time, and unlike the other guys, he never looks like he’s hustling.

I think Tolbert already sees the handwriting on the wall and is just going through the motions, story of his career, imo. Time will tell, but I think Mingo is much better.

Totally agree, it's why I don't like Tolbert. He's just too soft and passive. Even Mike mentioned once last year what you're saying, that Dak trusted him deep one on one and it was intercepted and Tolbert didn't make enough of an effort to break it up.

You're not factoring in playing with Cooper Rush.
Honestly I just don't believe it to be quite as big of a factor as we make it out to be. In comparison to the rest of the league over the last decade only about 60% of QBs make it through an entire season without missing games so getting passes from a guy like rush isnt uncommon, although yes 8 games is more than average.

You also have no shortage of players who have put up 600+ yard seasons due to high volume snaps. Our very own Parris Campbell did it just a few years ago in 2022. He ran 500+ routes and put up 63 catches for 623 yards. His yards per route ran is at 1.1 which is typically found with most any veteran JAG type. I think we need to see a lot more out of Tolbert for him to get any sort of firm hold over the #3 job....most likely this becomes a committee approach with several players getting reps.
