I love these threads. They end up being so funny. One, because they are so stupid to begin with, and two because you guys have a great sense of humor. :laugh1:

Yeah, that's how it happens knowadays.

Planning a hit is as easy as dialing 1-800-HIT-MANN!

I had somebody whacked this moring and it only cost me $19.95!

So nobody piss me off today, I have another $20 burning a hole in my pocket!

This situation, rather Pacman knew him or not, does pose the ability to be a really long, drawn out, situation that could be a distraction or even could cause Goodell to say he isn't reinstating him until this little matter is entirely cleared up.

It's troublesome, to say the least.

What is there to play out. The police have already said that the money was extorsion money. If Goodell trys to keep Pacman suspended over this, he is going to have some serious legal troubles coming his way. He is not judge, jury and executioner.

Yes he is the judge, jury and executioner. The CBA that the NFLPA agreed to makes him such.

This is the sort of thing that gets sorted out with the police and the legal system. If the police and the courts believe Pacman's version, there is no reason for the NFL to take any more punitive action against Pacman for an incident they know he was involved in and is one of the reasons that he is still under suspension.

Now if Pacman is thought to be lying or witholding some evidence/testimony, that is an entirely different scenario.

The courts would have final say over any matters if he abuses his power.

Exactly, if Goddell starts to abuse his powers you can bet that there will be repercusions. People that think that Goodell can do as he pleases, do you really think that he could get away with just suspending players because he feels like it. Of course not, if he extends PacMans suspension, then he had best have a very good reason, and there has been nothing that has come up since he was suspended that would qualify as a good reason to suspend him.

And Charlie Manson was talking to God:eek:

Speaking of Manson, if he could cover receivers, Jerry would be petitioning for his early release so they could get him ready for training camp.

HELP!!

I called the number and accidently ordered a hit on myself! Now I cannot call it off because the victim cannot call off a hit.

Courts will not get involved. Pacman agreed to abide by NFL rules when he signed his contract. NFL rules allow the Commissioner to be the sole judge on what is allowed and what is not and who can play and who cannot.

Jones' lawyer has already said that he had every right to sue over the original suspension, but Jones decided to go ahead and drop that suit. So the courts will get involved.

Yea that's a lot of lawyer fluff that went no where because if he really thought he could win he would have done it and at least force the NFL to compromise with a shorter suspension

So if his lawyer really believed that and did not pursue the issue then he dropped the ball

It was Jones' decision, the lawyer said he felt they would have won. I think the reason was the time it would have taken and the fact Jones and the Titans were already going into the divorce mode. At that point he felt it was better to go along with the commissioner and wait for his reinstatement.

I don't know how to explain this any clearer. The courts will not and cannot become involved. The CBA gives Goodell the power, there's nothing that the judicial system can do to change that. The NFLPA may take issue but they gave Goodell that power. The only thing they can do is bargain that particular provision in the next CBA.

How can something so simple be so hard for some to understand?
