I’m sorry but Dallas made a huge mistake not letting Joseph get all the reps possible before the playoffs.

Now #2 corner is clearly our biggest weakness headed into the playoffs and as bad as it sounds Kelvin Joseph is still our best option.

For all the hate Anthony Brown received on this forum his loss may be what sends us home early in the playoffs.
I somewhat agree. At least let him gain some experience

The only mistake Dallas made was drafting that punk in the first place. He's been trash every time he's stepped on the field.

Joseph is what you call a losing player. It doesn't matter if you run 4.39 if you continually make low football IQ mistakes. Dude didn't seem to learn from them either.

Joseph has been very good when playing press man coverage. He is a physical, in your face cover corner with the skills to pull it off. That was how he was allowed to play in the past when we saw and applauded his possible development. Then, probably due to injuries, we start playing more zone and more soft coverages.
You put Joseph 8 yards off the ball and you are asking for trouble. He was burned because his aggressiveness was to fly forward and attack, so he got burned on a double move.

If we had benched Brown or Diggs every time they were burned deep, they wouldn’t be the players they are now. I also think we played more zone to have guys looking at the QB because our DEs were losing contain and letting QBs run.

Now we have Brady playing. I’d have Diggs following Evans everywhere. I’d have Joseph playing man and Bland in the slot. Give safety help deep, sometimes 2 deep in halves, sometimes 1 deep and 1 down lower. With Hankins and LVE back, I don’t think we will struggle with TB‘s run game.

I've been saying the thing about Brown all year, even before he was hurt: that he was under-appreciated.

On some levels, I agree with you about Joseph, too. He does have talent. Just doesn't have the confidence. And it seemed like the coaches gave up on him after all the hate pouring in from the fanbase came in.

ST coach Fassel says KJ is a terrific player to coach...

"I'll take Kelvin Joseph on my ST units a million times out of a million"

He's a beast on special teams, if you're looking. Only a matter of time for him there.

I thought he was playing OK at CB, too. I at least thought we had time to figure it out and didn't think it was necessary to bench him as a reaction to the TD he gave up.

Risky call, now, whatever they do. Because they kinda don't know what they have at CB. I think it's Bland all day. But that's just me.

Joseph could get better over time because he has legit talent.

These guys they brought in are complete trash.
He could, but he was not very good in the opportunities that he was given, so we don't know if he would have or will. We've been trying to fix that one corner sport since Brown went down (and a lot of us felt it needed to get fixed before then). All we've learned is that our options aren't that good. Bland has been the only player to step up, which would have been fine if we had not also lost Lewis.

I hope we give the veteran Rhodes a shot when we go to three corners. He may be a shell of what he was, but at least he knows what he's doing out there.

My CBs would be Diggs, Bland, Rhodes, Wright, Joseph..

Probably in that order. For what Rhodes lacks athletically, he makes up for it with smarts. I knew all along that if Brown ever went down, we'd feel it as a team.

But I like Bland's instincts, then probably Wright's ability to make a play. But I also think Joseph should have gotten more reps. He's got a lot of upside, athletically.

Not really sure why we didn't see more of Alexander. He's played limited snaps, but there's only been one catch against him and it was a short one where he immediately made the tackle. Honestly, I feel better about him right now than I do Wright and Joseph. Joseph makes mental mistakes while Wright's are physical because he just doesn't have the maneuverability to stick with receivers out of their breaks.

I was hoping that we'd play Joseph as the right corner instead of Diggs against Washington. Considering how that game turned out, it certainly seems like we should have used that game as an audition.

My top three would be Diggs, Bland, Rhodes...

Whatever happened to Juanyeh Thomas?
