Mistake to have two coaches call plays?

Personally, I think it is. It is hard for me to understand how an offense gets into a rytham or even an OC gets on a role when you have one coach responsible for runs plays and one coach responsible for passing plays. A good OC can get a keep a defense off balance and dominate them. I don't know how that happens with two cooks, so to speak, in the kitchen.

I agree. Most coordinators are exploiting what the defense is giving them, and also trying to set up a certain play. Must be annoying if you want to set up a passing play, but your Run Coordinator is running plays out of different sets, etc.

I've often wondered if this was part of the reason we seemed to be somewhat disjointed in past seasons, offensively. Just seems as if it would be hard to establish a feel for the game. One of the decisions I did not agree with from Parcells but then again, who knows if Bill was really calling the game or not? Tough to say.

I don't think we'll have two people calling plays, but I will say that I always like having brilliant people around to bounce ideas off of.

Don't think that thought hasn't run across my mind a couple thousand times today. With any luck, another 45 minutes and I'm out of here. At least I can catch some Z's in the air.

Brilliant. I agree. It NEVER hurts to have a fresh set of eyes.

Well it does if they don't get along ala San Diego.

Anyway only one guy will be calling plays next year.

It definitely didn't work with Gibbs and Saunders this year. Power struggle, big time.

One person should definitely be in charge, with the head coach having oversight.
