I think the Browns would just say we'll take 12 and 20 and you can have Garrett. As great as Garrett is, he alone won't fix this defense and its hard to think about giving up 2 1st rounders for a 31 year old player. We wouldn't do it for Crosby who is a couple years younger so can't see them making that move for Garrett either.

I wouldn't. That's not good value for them at all. You're only swapping #1s this year to your detriment (#6 to #12 and gaining #20) and with Garrett making this team a little better, the #1 next year would "probably" be in the mid 20s. So essentially you're trading Garrett for two 1st rounders minus the position you're already in. I'd demand more or no deal.

I agree…Browns would be crazy to do that deal. Dropping 6 slots is worth a 2nd rounder in current value. And all we are giving is #20 and likely an even worse 1st rounder next year.

I don’t agree with the belief that future picks are discounted 1 round but I do think most teams believe there should be some discount applied. However you slice it, it’s a horrible deal for Cleveland.

Browns give Garrett and pick 50 (current trade value of dropping from 6 to 12)
Browns get pick 20 this year and pick 20+ next year (without any future discount applied)

The only way that trade happens is if Jerry has nudie pics of the Haslams.

The truth on Garrett and the Browns is elusive. On one hand, G.M. Andrew Berry continues to call Garrett a “career Brown.” On the other hand, Garrett seems to be ready to give up a $1 million workout bonus by skipping the team’s offseason program.

Then there’s the recent contract modification, which delays the deadline for Garrett’s offseason option bonuses from the 15th day of the league year in March until seven days before the start of the regular season. Obviously, that allows the Browns to trade Garrett without paying the option bonus.

I’ve already heard rumors about a potential draft day trade with Cleveland. It was mentioned as picks 12 and 20 for picks 6 and 39.

This got me thinking of something.

What about 12 and 20 - and next year’s remaining 1st rounder - for #6 and Myles Garrett?

You could get a top player for the secondary at #6 (Downs, Delane) AND shore up your pass rush with the best in the business.

The downside is that you’d be out of next year’s 1st round, which is being regarded as one of the very best in recent years.

Cleveland would be adding three 1st round picks over the next two years for their rebuild.

What say you?

Can't deny it would be interesting. If Downs or Styles is there at 6 then I make the trade with 12 and 20, 2nd 2027 and 1st in 2028 for 6th and Garrett.

Solves either ILB or Safety nickel at 6 and Garrett at DE. If Styles gone and Downs there do the same trade then trade 92 to Miami for Brooks and 112 to Indy for Moore CB. Defense would definitely be top 10 and offense should be top 5.

Could be a very good year.
