MM making same excuses 3 years later. Time for him to go!

This team is one of the most talented teams in the league. My Aunt Mabel could coach it to winning record. Most penalized team in the league again, horrid clock management again, can’t stop the run, yet again but hey, the old “who are you gonna get instead of MM” rationale persists…… tell you what, let’s do nothing and get the same worthless results and watch some really talented players waste their career here…….this is a recording……
I think they only Play one way on O and D.

When it doesn’t work, we lose.

Going To a 4-3-4 or 4-4-3 would have helped the run D in Buffalo.

3 years ago and that playoff loss to SF MM preached that they will address the penalties, 3 years later they still lead the league in penalties. Last playoff loss he talked about playing with urgency on the road, they are now 3-4 with 3 losses by 20 plus points. Today he talks about this gap on the road as if we and more importantly players will now listen when it’s 3 years of the same mistakes. Sure MM’s teams beat bad teams by 30. If the plan is to win a SB we all know it won’t happen with this coach and certainly not this year with having to win 3 straight on the road to get there. If JJ is content with losing in the second round then keep the status quo.
Your a little bit early to the dance, MM has given this team a chance for once in the past recent years of total mediocrity.

It just doesn't make sense to me. We dumped Garrett, rightfully, because at the end of the day, his teams could never get over the hump in the playoffs. It was just disappointment after disappointment.

So to be touting McCarthy as having done a really nice job here when he's not been able to advance further than Garrett could is weird to me. This is arguably his most talented and best team he's had in Dallas. If this team craps out again in Rd 2 (or the WC round), how can anyone who criticized Garrett for his failures then turn around and claim McCarthy is doing really well?
Excellent detailed follow-up with spot on logic.

Also, you pose fantastic questions to which I have no answers in speaking for his avid supporters here, of which I'm not.

It's like when are we gonna see the post season improvement that he was hired for?

Depends on where we lose in the playoffs.

He’s screwed up our playoffs already.

We look like a #5 seed. Which is a disaster.

A poor showing in a road loss and maybe Jerry thinks about cutting big Mike.

January is when decisions like this are made.

DQ is certainly a candidate.

If he does remove Mike, it’s not that expensive. Mike only has one year left on his deal.
Pretty much.

And as you said, if we lose on the road to San Fran, remember we didn't have to play them on the road if we hadn't gotten whiplashed by a terrible Arizona team (this assumes we win out which I am not sure we do).

BUT, if there is a “Jack squat” trophy the Cowboys definitely win it.
no that's reserved for the teams that don't make the playoffs or finish with a 500 record or below... also not the dallas cowboys who by the way keep finishing in the top 6.

that would rise about jack squat , however, these post however offer jack squat to actual football talk...

Prisoners of the moment. Some people can't see the big picture after a loss. This is still the same team that was on a hot streak. They lost one game badly and it's time to blow everything up? Hardly.
that's because of most of the negative haters are using paint by numberslol heck some of them are doing watercolors....

Oh look, Chicken Little Supreme makes an appearance. :lmao: The Cowboys are 10-4 and already have their playoff invitation confirmed with 3 games left in the regular season. The only pattern I've seen is how predictable and lame you panicked chickens are when everything doesn't go your way. I expect you to have fully jumped ship when the Cowboys are yet again on the road in Miami. Bye Chicken, you won't be missed!

You didn't answer the question though.

What good is a SB win a decade ago with a Hall of Fame QB and a different franchise if he can't muster results better than what Garrett delivered? Again, if we bow out in the divisional round (or worse, the WC round) how can anyone claim McCarthy is doing a really nice job? He would have taken this franchise no further than Garrett ever did. It's not about comparing Garrett's resume to McCarthy's. It's about simply looking at the results. And in four years, if we lose early in the playoffs, McCarthy has done very little to get the Cowboys over the hump Garrett never could.

Well whether it was a year ago or a decade ago. McCarthy is a proven superbowl winning coach. He's done it before and has the knowledge to do it again.

Does that mean he will?? Who knows. But he has proven that he HAS done it before.

I think the next step to becoming a forum member is to undergo a psychological evaluation. Sometimes I wish lobotomies were still an accepted practice. 2nd option, cranial blood letting.

Which means little now that we have an actual track record here.

To me, he has to get this team behind the 2nd round and do it soon.

It will be tough to get a better coach than Big Mac here. His blue-collar lineman personality and work ethic also does a good job neutralizing the "Hollywood" you get in Dallas.

No instant HOF guys available other than Belichick who jury is still out if he is worth a shot again. Shanahan tree has been picked bare.

And Jerry's track record in picking new coach prospects isn't much of a highlight.

Like Nate Newton said this week, start pointing your finger at the players and holding them accountable. 3-4 years in this system, improvements made yearly, time to show up.

He’s right. Buffalo came out to play physical and the cowboys wanted no part of it.
Absolutely seems that way. When things go our way we don’t play soft but when faced with adversity we kind of fold
