Regarding the Browns at 2. Last week I heard Wentz strongly at this pick. This weekend one of my panelists said: “It’s definitely Goff. Believe it.” Next week, could it be Brian Sipe? But I will say this about the pick: Goff’s the name I hear coming out of that building right now. We’ll see.

That would be nice but like I have said either Wentz or Goff would be good in Dallas

If Goff is the name coming out of that building, I have no doubt Wentz is the pick. Jerry Jones is hardly the only personnel person who throws up false flags.

I worry about Goff because I don't think he is a guy that will make a lot of plays outside of the scheme.

If we are committed to Garrett then we need a guy at QB that can create and imo Goff doesn't excel there.

Whatever the name is...if it is Cleveland they will probably be the wrong name for that team.

Their last few years of first round picks, even when they have multiple first round picks, have been astoundingly bad.

Danny Shelton
Cameron Irving
Justin Gilbert
Johnny Manziel
Barkevious Mingo
Trent Richardson
Brandon Weeden
Phillip Taylor

Joe Haden ---last really good first round pick imo.

Now let's look at their QBs

Johnny Manziel
Brandon Weeden
Colt McCoy (to be fair a third rounder)
Brady Quinn
Charlie Frye (to be fair a third rounder)
Luke McKown (to be fair a fourth roundeer)

I've said all along that the Browns may be running a game a subterfuge, and Goff could be the intended target. He seems most ready, and before long, when the Browns are 0-6 and out of the playoff race, a crescendo will be heard rising from the rafters, "We want to play Goff, we want to play Goff!"

I trust Peter King's sources more than I do many other insiders. Besides, there's really no advantage to the Browns keeping things under wraps. Either a team is going to give up a ransom to the Titans for the No. 1 pick, either Cleveland moves up one spot for considerable less or Cleveland takes the quarterback who is left.

I know there's a lot of smoke being blown by a lot of front offices, but if Adam Schefter, Peter King or Jay Glazer share tidbits of information, I tend to give them more weight than other insiders.

For once we agree on something about the QB's. I can't argue with that assessment. If we are going to need a guy who can make plays when things break down, Wentz has to be the pick.

King was exposed pretty badly last year if I remember correctly. I don't think he know a lick more than those other guys do.

They all get it wrong, sometimes. They're used too. Teams like to float "trial balloons." But don't underestimate Peter King's sources. His cultivated a lot of relationships as a NFL beat reporter for SI.

He also showed his *** last year as another click mongering pseudo-journalist.

He used to be very in touch with the heartbeat of the league. He hasn't really been an "insider" in a decade though.

Also, the relative majority of these guys are relying on the same "sources" for their information. It's very common among journalists. I say that to further emphasize that I don't believe King is more privy than these other guys.

I wonder if they are trying to convince teams there's no reason to trade in front of them for Wentz.

I never understood the love for Shelton. He had bust written all over him. He still has a chance to be a player, of course, but I just don't see it happening.

I called it long time ago, Wentz is not ready.

Would love for him to drop to us, but this smells, etc. Wentz all year, now Goff, etc. I know it's pre-draft misinfo being thrown around (even by us this time surprisingly), but I think they're taking Wentz.

Maybe just me but I think if you go with Goff you have to change the offense to fit his strength.
