Since it's a penalty, I'm presuming that this had to be called on the field, right (with a couple exceptions: 12 men on the field, batted ball on PI)? It couldn't have been reviewed?

You're right about that. I don't think they can add a penalty on a review. But they did huddle up and no one said anything.

Even if DET gets the ball back at the one, there is no guarantee that they score.

SEA knows better than everyone that bad things can happen at the one.

Well, no, there's no guarantee that they score a TD, but they'd be at basically the old PAT range to tie it if they didn't.

"Blandino, speaking to Monday Night Football, said the batted ball part of the play is not reviewable even though it was a turnover."

Another blown call in the NFL what else is new. Maybe if they weren't so busy calling penalties all game long and learned the rule book and focused on real rules they could have gotten this one right. Ref: Wait where's my flag I need it again.

Bizarre, on one hand the ball was going out anyway or the defender could have caught it in the end zone, he wasn't getting a competitive advantage by bumping it out.

On the other hand a rules a rule and I'd be pissed if this went against the Cowboys.ha

IDK, the ball bounced straight up before he batted it and there were 3 Lions coming fast.

He should have just tried to get possession since it wouldn't matter if he didn't get complete control.

This is one of those times the NFL looks exactly like pro wrestling.

I'm so sad about what the NFL has become. Most games are ugly sloppy messes now controlled by the refs. Getting less and less watchable. It's all about the fantasy now

The league really hates the Lions for some reason. Isn't it bad enough that they're in Detroit, shouldn't that be punishment enough?
