MNF game thread

OBJ might be decent for the Rams but it wasn't going to be instant impact. After all the injuries I think you have to scheme him open. Can't expect him to dominate like the Giants years when he could take a slant and an RAC a ton of yards.

yep agree…remember Dez pre- vs post- ankle injury….
He was never the same, couldn’t get any separation, and never had the explosiveness again.
Odell now reminds me of post-injury Dez.

Rams are in that pic too because they’re not in first place in NFC West- Cards in first place.
You're right. I just consider LA or AZ a lock for the 5th seed. But I should have stated this was the battle for last 2 slots. Thanks

Stafford has been playing hurt for 2 weeks now. 2 different injuries.
He just always plays thru stuff when maybe he should sit out a game.
They get their bye week now, so maybe they heal up.

has looked bad the last two weeks though

LOL .....nothing new, he's the Julio Jones of Qbs. ( always hurts but never misses a game ).

The Rams had a very deep team due to drafting well in the mid rounds. Maybe that's why they weren't hesitant to move the high picks.

Any team these days is only going as far as their QB takes them, and Stafford isn't getting it done right now.

I was never a fan, thought the price for him was absurd, and I was proven very wrong early in the season. Now I'm not sure what to think....but I do know that they are a definite playoff team, and one I'd still like to avoid in round one if possible.

I don't think those injuries are the excuse for his poor play. The team as a whole has been playing pretty bad. Just a minor bump in the road McVey will get those guys together.

I know they hit on a few safeties one they let walk in free agency but have they been hitting well in the draft? They just seem like a very top heavy team....most of these guys that flash aren't even draft picks of theirs...I know Donald is for sure.

They do seem top heavy now.

They had a bunch of no name guys on defense that were playing well and I remember looking into how they were built.

No time to do it now and if I'm wrong then I'm wrong, but I don't recall it that way.

Yeah I wasn't trying to imply you were wrong I don't get to watch them much.....well damn it seems like they are always on now but when they had Goff I didn't get to see them as much. I remember there was a era where that defense was stacked with Quinn, Brockers, Laurinitis, etc....but just off the top....Leonard Floyd isn't a pick of there's, Ramsey, Woods.....

I'm pretty sure they did get Henderson, Donald, Rapp in the draft.

I still can't sit here and believe a team is just trading 1st round picks. And they've done it for so long now that they are on the brink of it either destroying their team one way or the other.

They've commited every football sin there is. They paid the running back, they paid the unproven quarterback, they've traded all of their 1st round picks..the fact they even have a team in 2021 is a miracle lol.

That's fine.
Just pointing out that they have considered holding him out the last two weeks, and other QBs that we may know might have sat out a week.

That's all.

Poor play is poor play though. If you suit up, you're responsible for your play. Injured or not.

Stafford is not one to sit out, as we saw when he played injured for many years in Detroit and even had the iron man streak for several years.

He probably SHOULD sit out and heal occasionally.
Probably still near the very near the top of the league in most categories, but now has back-to-back rough outings.

What players sit out because of a sore back lol?

Isn't this a consistent trend? Every year Stafford has these few games where he looks less than stellar and its a injury excuse. This same thing happened last year and the year before.

The back, the hand and the ankle....but whatever. It's the Rams and I'ma Cowboy fan

Bigger picture for Stafford is his individual poor play the last two weeks will probably knock him out of the top spot in the NFL in the combined stats of Passer Rating and total TD/Turnover differential.
More importantly, his team now has 3 losses.

So, yes, he has had back-to-back poor games.

I think Mahomes had maybe 4 in a row this year but seems to have snapped back. So we'll see.
There are no QBs that haven't had at least one poor game this year, and most have had at least 2 or 3.....them being human and all.

Good news for us is that Dak has really...imo... only had one bad game so far (out of 8 played).
:flagwave:

I don't care about the Rams losing much... maybe it helps us but ugh... I just want Green Gay to lose... ugh.... they are the ones who really need more losses...

Yes, the Jags got rid of Minshew on purpose so there could be no QB controversy and benching of Lawrence.
Welcome to the NFL Lawrence, particularly the Jaguars where you can stake your career on vicious intelligent defenses, a barely adequate Jaguars O-line, and deal with Urban "Bourbon" Meyer.
