I made this comment to StarBoyz in response to him saying Mo was one of the biggest busts in NFL history: "He didn't perform up to his draft slot, but he was far, far from being one of the worst draft picks ever."

Your first post (which was in reply to my post quoted above) in the discussion was: "You don't even consider him one of the worst draft picks in franchise history???"

Nowhere in my post did I say he wasn't one of the worst picks in franchise history. We weren't talking about the franchise, we were talking the NFL. Had you bothered reading the posts leading up to that (which you stated you weren't inclined to do) we wouldn't be going back and forth with this bs. Anyways, you can have the last word because I'm done with this.

Just let it go...geeze!

It wouldn't cost us a draft pick to acquire RG3 and with the Cowboys searching for a backup QB you have to take the possibility of acquiring him seriously. Remember Jerry brought in Ryan Leaf years ago who was one of the biggest draft busts in the history of the draft.

Then by the same token, Mo should be given some latitude to prove himself next year. I think he should be considered for retention.

He's been given 4 years time to move on.

So in otherwords the bet really is "Mo will get more than zero picks next season".

So someone else's even bigger draft bust is a serious consideration but Mo is a no go? Where is the consistency in philosophy?

Mo had his chance in Dallas and it didn't work out. Sometimes a change of scenery and a fresh start is what a player needs. RG3 didn't work out in Washington but who knows maybe a fresh start is what he needs. There's not likely to be any tantalizing veteran options at backup QB in free agency so he may end up being one of the better options and he will come at a low risk. I'm not saying I want to sign him but we'll just have to see what's available. We have to bring in a veteran QB as insurance in the event the QB we draft (assuming we draft one) isn't ready or capable of backing up Romo.

How are you not saying you want to sign RG3 if that's how what you think about him? To be fair, I agree he deserves a look see, but I'm not giving up on Mo either.

I'm saying RG3 is worth a look if the pickings happen to be slim in free agency at QB. I've made myself clear. We can't take the chance of going with Cassel again so you have to figure he'll be released and the team will need another veteran QB so the Cowboys could possibly give RG3 a look. Mo has had 4 seasons and they've all been injury plagued. He's never going to be the player the Cowboys thought they were getting. He's an average player who could be retained for depth depending on what the team comes up with at corner.

Considering retaining Mo for depth, pending what the team comes up with at corner is all I'm saying. If other better options come our way, by all means show him to the door. I think RG3 is far better option than Cassel or Manziel.

If thats what you're saying there's no point in continuing.
