As in not making plays on the ball and being injured a lot, he always had that figured.

I see no reason to not offer this kind of player another contract. He sounds completely reliable and has shown a lot of consistency on the field.

Let's be real. Morris was considered the best corner coming out that year. I was watching his college highlight video on YouTube the other day. Wow!!! I would of never thought he would be this bad. He could never stay healthy and we have to move on. I will say this though, his forty time was not that great and he looks like he weighs a buck 50.

People get suckered with those highlight videos. I saw one of kellen moore and it made him look like a sure #1 first round pick lol

“I have to make the best decisions for my kids and for myself,” said the father of two. “At the end of the day, I feel like that’s what it comes down to. I’m not in it alone.”
To me that is just code for "I'm taking the highest offer in free agency."

Yeah. Those YouTube highlights...... I will say this I was watching the highlights of Jaylen Ramsey and was not impressed at all.

Only if the player actually takes the test. Just showing up and filling out the space that reads NAME doesn't qualify.

I think that was actually a telling point about Mo. Yes it's one of the least important things you do at the Combine, but the margin of error in the NFL is small. Guys who don't do "the little things" usually don't have long careers. Mo did not have the desire to be special or the elite athleticism to match his length and was a major bust and underachiever.

Bothering to take the test at all and just filling in the name only tells you just about everything you need to know about someone's intelligence.

I could live with him coming back if the price is right. He was much better this year than he receives credit for being because he had already been labeled a bust by a lot of fans.

Our depth at corner right now is Scandrick (coming off injury), Carr and a couple of JAGs some fans will think we can rely on as a third corner just because they each made an interception ... much like the start Jeff Heath at safety crowd.

Right.

He knows his play was sub-par, and that he stole money on his contract. But this has never happened to him before, and he's likely to blame it on being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's tired of reading about being a huge disappointment, and he's eying a fresh start to get back on track.

The only type of player that would come back to all the negativity is one who has absolute loyalty to the owner, team, city, and fans; a guy who is 100% confident that he can and will excel in this system, and is dedicated to repaying the investment in him. I don't think that's where Mo's head is.

He'll be looking to reboot.

He didn't perform up to his draft slot, but he was far, far from being one of the worst draft picks ever.

You don't even consider him one of the worst draft picks in franchise history??? I would put Mo at the very top as the worst draft pick in franchise history based on his 6th overall draft selection and the fact we used a #2 to move up for him. We gave up 2 premium picks for him and got very little in return and now he appears on the way out. He's had an injury plagued career missing games every season and when he's been on the field he's been average at best.

When you rate the worst draft picks whether it be in league history or franchise history you have to base it on how high the player was drafted. The higher the draft pick the higher the expectations. I can't find a higher pick taken by the Cowboys that's been as big a disappointment as Claiborne especially considering he was top rated defensive player in the draft.

So do you think the talk of acquiring someone else's even bigger draft pick disappointment (RG3) should be taken seriously?

The OP didn't say "Franchise" history, he simply said one of the worst draft picks ever, implying he was including all teams. At least, that's the way I interpreted it. As for the Cowboys specifically, I would argue that Shante Carver, Mike Sherrard, and Kevin Brooks were all worse picks. Granted, they weren't picked as high as Mo, but they were first rounders. But like I said, I was responding to worst draft bust in NFL, not Cowboys.
