I'm sorry, am I missing something? Did I miss that Mo is playing at an All-Pro level or something?

I think folks are confusing competent CB play (Mo) with top echelon CB play because it's been so long since the Cowboys have had even an average CB1/CB2. Not I am not counting Scandrick in that because I've considered him one of the top 2-3 CB3s in the league.

Yeah, you have missed something.

Again, Mo has gone up against OBJ, Julio Jones, and Cooks. All three had low points going against Claiborne, especially Cooks who only averaged 6 YPC while Mo shadowed him.

So again, "above average"? What more is Mo supposed to do? Hold them all to 0 catches? He's playing like a first round CB right now, simple as that.

I never understood all the Mo hate. He was injured, and it is EXTREMELY difficult to play corner in a league that now favors offensives and throws a flag if the defensive back so much as sneezes on the wide receiver.

If you paid for a Porche and it performs like a Toyota, you are going to hate it. If you paid for a Toyota and it peforms like a Porche, you are going to love the car. Same car, but you'll either hate it or love it depending on what you paid for it.

If Mo was a 7th round pick, he would be liked more than hated now.

Fair or not, that's how people think.

And lost in my OP is the fact that 3 players that most if not all Mo haters would have, or did have on a pedestal at one time.
Blackmon coming out of college, Richardson, which I am surprised some aren't saying why don't we look at him, and RG3 after his first year was the media darling, and for the next few years too. But Chip Kelley has that title now.
None which are playing, or are sitting as a 3rd team guy. Though I am sure some would want RG3 over Weeden.
Anyway, Mo, at least for this year turning out not to be the bust over 3 of the top 5 before he was selected.

Now with Hardy and Ro back playing, I am anxious to see what he can do with a better pass rush as it improves.

I love the backhanded compliments you people give Mo.

He's doing better than "average" or even "above average". That describes Scandrick, not Mo's performance this year.

Well whatever.. I'm pleased with what he has done.

Yeah, I think because he was a first rd draft pic and what was given up to get him, they want to keep him. Baseball term, kind of a home grown product

With the refusal for the optional 5th year of Mo's contract, it leads me to believe that the team does not want really want him back.

Players are not cars. You don't expect a new car to have a "learning curve." You do expect people to.

I'd bet the team would love to have him back at the right price. And $11.08 million for one year was not the right price when the deadline for that decision came.

They want him back, just not at that 5th year price.

Highest draft grade since Deion Sanders. Too much media hype in Dallas selling snake oil.

Yeh players are not cars. It was a metaphor of how people think when it comes to getting their money's worth on anything in life.

Blackmon is a beast when is he isn't suspended. What a shame. Can you imagine him (clean) paired with Dez?

Funny how fans live in the past, while the team lives in the present.

Has Mo been a disappointment until now? Yes, no one will disagree with that.

Is his disappointing right now? No. In fact, he's been one of the few bright spots on the team.

Why dwell on the past, it won't change anything. The team should be focused on trying to win right now and Mo is one of the reasons that may be possible. We can debate about his missed potential until the cows come home but I'm just glad he's finally playing at a level that helps not hinders the team. If he can stay at this level and not succumb to injury than kudos to him and good luck to whoever signs him at the end of the season, because it's only that team (which may be the Cowboys) who should be considering his past.

Weeden was impressive on that final drive, and honestly, one turnover in nearly 10 quarters this season is difficult to complain about with a starter, never mind a backup quarterback. He’s actually leading the NFL with his 76.3 completion percentage and he’s sixth in passer rating (108.8).
Miss leading stat.

I remember Ken Anderson of the Bengals always up in the top of the league in these stats every year.

Look at his hand - no rings.

yep. my thoughts exactly. if he wants top 5 money cause he feels he put in a top 5 year, bye felecia.

however, if he wants $ commensurate with his play over his career, great. keep him.
