Trade 2nd for 3rd, 4th and 6th.

I didn't get the WDE that I wanted early so I just loaded up with physically talented DEs in the later rounds and UDFAs.

1 Aaron Donald DT
3a Billy Turner OT/OG
3b Trai Turner OG
4a Walt Aikens CB
4b Kevin Norwood WR
5 Brandon Thomas OG/OT
6 Aaron Lynch DE
7 Howard Jones DE (Nickel pass rush specialist, might play SLB on base downs)
7 Ken Bishop DT (3 or 1 tech)
7 Zack Kerr DT (1-tech)
7 Isaiah Crowell RB
7 Trey Millard FB
7 L'Damian Washington WR

UDFA Shaquille Richardson CB
UDFA IK Enemkpali DE
UDFA Elhadji Ndiaye DE (super athletic with length)

Love the first 3.

I've been doing some mocks lately too and noticed that once Barr is gone, options at WDE are practically non existent til the later round gambles. I like your approach here a lot.

Our OL would be amazing.

Norwood in 4 is good too. Reminds me a lot of Patrick Crayton.

I like the mock considering the WDE scenario. I've seen bishop climb up to the 6th rounds in some mocks. Davon Coleman as well who wasn't ranked top 300 at some point and visited the Cowboys.

This draft would really address our needs on OL and DL, like this draft a lot.

You like Norwood over Richardson/Huff or do you think they go earlier. Good mock.

I'm open to other WRs. I have not studied all of them in depth. Norwood is one that I've studied. He has good size, good hands, seems to know how to get open and has good speed. The Cowboys need guys with size because they don't have true 3rd outside WR.

Yes, I would like to have fit Coleman in there somewhere. I have no idea where some of those guys like Bishop will really get drafted. His level of competition was really low.

I'd be shocked if we loaded up on OG/OT like that -- not that I'd object but I'd be surprised if we did.

We have a remarkable tendency to just miss on OL in the later rounds. The guys we want always seem to go a pick or two above us

I'm just not sold on any of the early options at DE. There are guys like Crichton that will be good players, but he is more of an SDE. The Cowboys already have options at SDE and they're not as difficult to find as a WDE with elite athleticism and length. The options that have the elite type quickness are lacking in length like Attaochu and Ford.

I didn't specifically intend to target OL as heavily, but I'm sold on the players that I took there. Guard is a huge need because the Cowboys have Zero depth there.

Everyone keeps picking Donald but he's not going to be available at 16.

Yes, looking at the leaked draft boards, the Cowboys have just ranked OL too low relative to other positions.

The Brandon Thomas pick was overkill, but I like the value if he is available there. He won't take up a roster spot due to the injury which is a concept that I like for later round picks.

I've gone through each team picking above the Cowboys and I don't believe that Donald will be their primary target.

The Giants prefer bigger DTs, past early picks are usually over 320 pounds. Also, they really need OL.

The Bears are probably going to run a hybrid 4-3/3-4 and possibly transition to a 3-4. Their D-Coordinator, DL coach and LB coach have all primarily coached the 3-4.

Cowboys fans and the media have over hyped Donald. The bottom line is that many teams prefer bigger DTs.

Count me as one who prefers bigger lineman. I still don't think Donald will get any where close to 16.

I think trading back in the 2nd is actually a fairly likely scenario. Every time I do a mock I can't seem to find a good value for us. However, both Turners is a little much for me. Depends on who is there, but I think we can definitely still get a pretty good front 7 player at that point. Not saying you have to force a DE, but any talent along the front 7 is hugely needed.

I'm assuming you're counting Billy Turner as a OT only?

I would definitely be happy with this draft. Aaron Donald, is my favorite thing about it obviously, being this years 1st round pet cat for me, but I'm also a fan of Walt Aikens. I'm not sure I'd do the trade, though. I'd stay put if Deone Buchannon S was availble, and try to get Trai Turner in the 3rd, if Billy Turner hasn't already been taken. I'd take Dri Archer over Kevin Norwood if still available, because with Dwayne Harris potentially moving into the 3rd receiver spot, we may need a new Kick Returner which Archer can be electric at (though I would not be suprised if the Saints reach for him to try and replace Sproles). After our discussion on Aaron Lynch, I'm okay with him in the 6th round, but with the 4 potential WDE we also discussed already on the roster, the Howard Jones pick seems almost like a throw away pick; I'd take Jeff Janis WR here - the Cowboys WR situation is, in my mind, the biggest question mark on offense, aside from G. Finally, since I already addressed WR twice, I would check out the TE A.C. Leonard instead of L'Damian Washington. Thoughts?

Dri Archer would be a fun, situation player to have on the roster, but the Cowboys need a legit outside WR to backup Dez and Williams. They really prefer bigger WRs on the outside. Beasley and Harris are the slot guys. That's two players for 1 position. I don't see Harris as what they want as a true outside WR in this offense.

Unfortunately, some 7th round picks are not going to make the roster. By not taking a DE early, I'm increasing the odds by taking multiple late.

Trade value wise, I can take an unlimited amount of 7th rounders for less than the value of a 2nd rounder. It's 2 points for a 7th compared to around 500 points for a 2nd round pick. If I take 10 DEs in the 7th and 1 is a big hit, it still costs way less than taking one in the 2nd.

I see Billy Turner as either an OG or OT. If he is the only OL drafted early, then I expect them to put him at OG because they have Zero depth there. Even in my mock, they would probably put him at OG in 2014 because they need more than 1 backup OG. With Thomas out for the season, it's not really as heavy on OL as it seems.

The Cowboys also have a lot of developmental type guys at DE on the roster but Zero at OG. They have Martez Wilson, Ceasar Rayford, and a couple of other past UDFA types. They don't even had that at Guard.
