Why the title? I have no idea beyond it sounded good in my head when I wrote it. The only point is I feel like Mocking.

QBs and DL are going to go fast. I always welcome comments.

1. Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU, 6'1", 210. I believe we will trade up to get him if we have to. I'm not sure we will have to. Newman's age is advancing and this pick makes the most sense for the team long run. WE have depth to develop at DL, but little to none in the secondary.

2. Tyron Smith, OT, USC, 6'6", 285. I'd love for it to be Nate Solder, but he is rising fast. If Smith rises too, look for Gabe Carimi. I continue to believe he will not be a 1st round pick. I think it is obvious that OL has to be addressed but is not a 1st round, top 10 strength of this draft. Regardless of who at OT falls to us here, he starts.

3. Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina, 6'2", 205. A perfect pick for the Cowboys and fills a need. Has higher talent than 3rd round but his injury pushes him down this far. Could we re-sign Sensabaugh and have an all Tar Heel Safety duo? It is not beyond the realm of possible.

4. John Moffitt, OG, Wisconsin, 6'5", 315. If Moffitt falls to the 4th as I suspect, it could mean our top 4 draft picks could all start in 2011. Kosier is a FA and Davis' skills are not what they were when we first got him and he played well.

5. Kendrick Ellis, NT, Hampton, 6'5", 340. The future at NT for this team may be Josh Brent and this kid if Ratliff does indeed more to DE. A small school project with huge upside.

6. Mark Herzlich, ILB, Boston College, 6'4", 250. Would immediately contribute on Special Teams and fills a need at ILB. Has a good football motor and is smart.

7. Henry Hynoski, FB, Pittsburgh, 6'2", 260.
This pick comes to us courtesy of the Chargers. Dallas used their pick on Josh Brent. A blocker with pass catching skills. Most important, he stops blitzes cold.

I believe we will sign Greg McElroy, QB Alabama if he is not drafted.

is it where they mock in protest?

btw i really doubt we move up to get peterson, just seems too expensive, i think we take prince akuhamura(sp?) instead

Of this draft happened id be so happy, but Peterson falling to #9 is very unlikely

Looks good to me but since Vela and Bunting have been singing the praises of Cameron Jordan for the past month or two and then he gets rave reviews last week I have been wondering if we do indeed need more quality on the

PS. Egyptians aren't allowed to mock or do anything else on their computers at the moment.

I'm thinking the Oline guys are moving up the board 1 or 2 will go top 10. I'd be happy with Costanzo, the Cal DE would be ok also, if Peterson is that good he's gonna go top 3 and it's gonna cost too much, especially when there will be good value staying at 9

I like this draft, but I think someone is going to grab Tyron Smith in the late first just because he has the ability to be a franchise LT. Even if that can't be realized this year.

Peterson being available at 9 is alot more likely than Smith available where we pick in round 2. He's gonna go in the first rd for sure IMO, maybe even end up the first tackle drafted when all is said and done.

I also doubt Herzlich lasts till the 6th rd, unless he runs an incredibly slow 40 time or they find some health concerns from his previous issue.

I agree on both the peterson and the smith picks...peterson will be there smith won't and he probably will be the first tackle taken

Smith will go where his weight says he will go. His last weigh in before the draft not the combine. He has GOT to be near 300 to be a first rd pick. Even then the team that picks him has to realize he will not be a first year starter.

Peterson will also go where his weight says. If he is near 220 he will go down; if he is near 210 he will go up. Since he has not played FS he will not go as high as Roy did or Taylor did. I would say 12 if at 220 and 3-5 at 210.

I think that last sentence makes it very unlikely Dallas takes Smith. The Cowboys generally want an immediate impact with their first and second round picks. So unless they feel Smith can crack the top 7 in their OL rotation in his first year, he's probably not a candidate for one of these picks. I think they will look for a more NFL ready type (e.g. Carimi or Costonzo) if they go OL in the early rounds.

What's with all the "Rat to DE" talk? Was there a statement from Garrett or Ryan about that?

I know every off-season we have people wanting to move the best NT in the NFL to different position because of some (disproven) belief he'd be better there. But this year there seems to be more. I don't get it. I must have missed something from the team indicating this was a possibility.

There have been many, many posts on why some believe in the move and with a new defensive regime and a lackluster defensive performance last year, it's a good talking point.

It's not about what would be best for Ratliff, it's about what may be best for the defense as a unit.

Thinking of this team as a group of individuals hasn't done us much good up to this point, I think we need to focus less on how many picks Newman has, how many sacks Ware has, etc. and more on what is best for the team.

If anyone is pro drafting a guy like Fairley or Cam Jordan to come in here and play DE, I don't see how they could think Ratliff wouldn't be successful at the very same position.

As to the OP, I would be thrilled if the draft turned out this way.

Well, we tried Rat at DE and it was not helpful for the team.

But just to be clear: there has been nothing from the team or from Ratliff that suggests this move in this works? This is just fans rehashing the same off-season speculation we've had for 3 years now?

It was a completely different team back then, and I'd assume he was a different player. You'd think he'd have gotten better in 5 years.

Rat isn't the best nt in the NFL
