Mock Like an Egyptian

I think Hostile has "Mocked Like An Egyptian" before if I remember correctly. I'm fairly certain that I"ve seen it on here before. Honestly, that song was huge, and it went through my head yesterday. I said it out loud, and I'm not anti-Egyptian. I don't think Hostile is anti-Egyptian, obviously. That much should be clear, and he deserves any benefit of the doubt that could arise. The nation is too politically correct as it is now.

Hos, I gotta know, has your source said they are going after Peterson? Stephen Jones mentioned him, but I still dont see him there at 9, so you are talking moving up. I have reservations about him because I dont see him as a shut down corner, and am not sure he is a play making safety of the Palamalu/ Reed variety. He would definitely upgrade special teams but they need a sure fire thing top 9.

Are YOU mocking ME ?

1st rnd: Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama. Assuming both Patrick Peterson and Robert Quinn are taken, this would be my choice for #9. Along with Josh Brent, Dareus would anchor the Cowboys defense, allowing Ratt to move to an end, and he's even athletic enough to play DE himself as well from time to time. When the Cowboys go 4-3, I'd love to see Dareus and Bowens lined up side to side at DTs, with Ware and Spencer at the ends. I don't know it for a fact, but something tells me this kid is a natural born leader.

2nd rnd: * James Brewer, OT, Indiana Where the Cowboys are picking in the 2nd round, is way, way too high for Brewer, which is why I'm putting a few conditions on this pick. First, neither Carimi or Sherrord must have fallen to this spot, nor any of the top OLBs/DEs, ie: Jordan, Karrigan, Heyward..etc..etc. Second, I'm trading down as far into the 2nd rnd as possible before I'm pulling the trigger for him. Now, the reason why I'm mentioning him in the 2nd round is because if there are no major slides, I believe this guy could be a starter at RT right out of training camp. At most, it should only take him a couple of games before he takes over Columbo for good. His upside is huge and he's just 23 years old. Hopefully by trading down well into the 2nd, maybe a couple of times, we could get an extra 4th and 5th round picks for other players that could fill some holes on special teams and I saw a bunch of them this afternoon.

3rd rnd: Richard Sherman, CB, Stanford Before people start heading for the axes and pitchforks or the edge of buildings, y'all need to do some research on this guy. After today's game ( which solidify his performance in the Orange bowl ), he put himself squarely into 3rd round or higher territory. I had a hard time deciding wether to put him in late 2nd and Brewer at this spot, not only because he's a CB, but he's a 6'2, 215 lbs CB, who was a former wide receiver and actually led the Cardinal in yardage during his first 2 years before suffering a knee injury. He not only stood up to Hankerson, who's been getting alot of love ( some of it underseved since, like in UM, he dropped passes that he shouldn't have ) he made a GREAT recovery after his own stupid mistake that prevented at least a FG. Not only has he shown he's a very, very good CB ( and natural at it ), his story off the field is fantastic. The two sentece version: he's a 5th year senior, graduating from Stanford with a masters degree, and he's from Campton. Only the 2nd person ever to do so from his highschool, which is one of the best football talent producers in the country (Dominguez High School ). You can read the rest of it here:

If we cannot land Peterson for whatever reasons, I'd be thrilled with this guy wearing a star on his helmet.

4th rnd: Deunta Williams, S, North Carolina. Two years ago, I thought this guy was going to be a #1 pick when his career was over. Obviously, for whatever reasons, that didn't happen. Still, this guy can ball and he's been flying under the radar, so if we can get him at this spot, it would be a steal imo.

4th rnd: * Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona Assuming we traded down in the 2nd round and this was one of the picks we got, and this guy was here, we'd be fools to pass on him. Those of you who watched the Senior Bowl know what I'm talking about. Wether a pass rush specialist or a special team player, this guy belongs on the field because he's a " football player ". He would also provide competition for Victor Butler and Brandon Williams, although I'd like to keep all 3 on the roster.

5th rnd: Joel Devine, RB, West Virginia This kid is a playmaker who will get overlooked because of his size. If I remember correctly, Darren Sprole was drafted around this same area of the draft and Devine is like a clone of Sproles. Eventually we need to move away Dez from punt return duties and we desperately need somebody who can return kick offs: Attention Teddy Williams.

* 5th rnd: Colin McCarthy, ILB, Miami, FL. Assuming this is another of the picks we get from trading down in the 2nd, at this spot of the draft this would be a good find. This guy is exactly like Brooks Reed in that you look at him and think he's not a big deal, but when the game starts, he pops up everywhere. Reed and McCarthy on the same kickoff teams or punt team, would be a thing of beauty to watch.

6th rnd: Brandon Bair, DE, Oregon I saw very good potential from this kid in those late night college games on the West Coast. At the very least, a good project for the practice squad, but might surprise in camp because he hustles.

7th rnd: Demarcus Van Dyke, CB, Miami, FL He's a project who's on the thin side, but could be a 4th or 5th CB type, with the potential to start someday if he gets bigger and learns the position better. Like Sherman, he was a former WR for da U, and made some big plays while there, but after the so called great recruiting class they had, he was switched to CB in order to make room for the others. Excellent special team player.

They haven't even begun to complete draft analysis yet. Until we get through the Combines I doubt they make any decisions. I can tell you this, they got a very good up close look at Peterson during the Cotton Bowl and they like him a lot. I do believe he's their favorite so far because his is the only name I have heard.
