I plan on beginning working out on a regular basis again with my P90x workouts only this time I'll be doing the strength training ones at the gym where I've got more weight options and such.

Also I'll be switching between P90x and Insanity on the cardio days so that I get an even wider variety of cardio workouts on the non-strength training days.

So I thought I'd post on The Zone here and see if there were any other Zoners who might want to begin on Monday and keep a log going here for all of us who are to motivate one another and help out.

Maybe do some sort of little contest here on the forums for the best change over a 90 day period or for most weight lost or something? People would have to be willing to post their day 1 pictures on Monday or Tuesday, of course, and then possibly post progress pictures through out.

I'm not talking about for money or anything but maybe the mods would be willing to hook the person up with a custom member title or something in their profile to signify them as the winner of 2010 or something. Maybe other members could vote on the winner or something.

I don't know just thought it might be something to make the whole process more fun and get, and keep, more people involved in it and working hard at it.

If you're wanting to join in just post in here and lets get to work together. :)

I don't use P90X, I just go to the gym almost every day and alternate between cardo and lifting.

I would be interested in keeping up with how you are doing. I still have at least 10lbs I would like to drop.

I've been going to the gym about 3 months now. I do a maximum of six days a week and a minimum of five days. I'm down about 7lbs total, but I've lost more than that. I've gained a good sum of muscle during that time which added weight. I believe I've dropped about between 4-6% of my previous body fat. I need to drop at least 5% more to get into proper range. (12-18% body fat)

Too much xbox lately? :laugh2:
LOL! Yes that would be a problem as well if I continue down that path but unfortunately I am fat already so it's not really the fault of my XBox.

Though the evil thing is doing all it can to get me to gain more. :)

I know the feeling. I did nothing but play RDR all weekend. :laugh2:

For Monday, June 7th:

Donuts, w/bread machine:

3/4 cup milk
2 eggs
4 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
3 1/4 cup flour
4 tsp yeast

1. Place in bread machine. Setting: dough.
2. When done. Remove, let rest 10 minutes.
3. On floured surface, roll out to about half an inch thickness and use donut cutter.
4. Place donuts on lightly greased baking sheets and let rise for an hour.
5. Fry in preheated oil @ 375F, 1-3 at a time about 1 minute per side.
6. Drain and let cool.

While donuts are cooling:

In saucepan, combine one stick butter, 6 tbsp milk, 4 tbsp cocoa.
Bring to steady boil, remove from heat.
Add 1 tsp vanilla, 2 cups powdered sugar.
Mix well.
Dip donuts when frosting is warm (not hot).
Eat.

Makes about two dozen chocolate iced donuts.
That is what's on my schedule for Monday. I'll probably also try glazed and a different chocolate icing, plus trying different toppings, like cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, adding nuts, etc.

In the two and a half hours it will take to make, I'll be spending two of them doing manual labor, which is the only relevance.

is the P90x to increase muscle, or is it used primarily to lose weight?

I mean obviously for a overweight person it'll help with losing weight but what about someone who is already in shape and just wants to gain muscle?

p90x isn't for bodybuilders, but it will muscle you up and lose weight!

I can say P90X definitely kicks you in the rear end! I'm sore everyday. I've seen my endurance and strength definitely sky-rocket. I use to have to pause a lot during the workouts, but lately I've surprised myself and can go through the workout without any stopping.

It's great!

If you want some inspiration, visit my cousin's site.

http://www.noxcusefitness.com/

She was diagnosed with MS 11 years ago and has been in a wheelchair for 7 years. She's lost about 70lbs and has regained a bunch of strength in her legs. She looks better than she ever has, even when we were in high school.

She did it doing the P90X and Shakeology meal replacement.

Helps you lose weight and yes you can add plenty of muscle. You won't ever be a body builder doing it but it's not that kind of workout. You can add some serious muscle to yourself though using it.

The reason being that there are so many varied options of so many of the moves to make them easier, or harder, as you progress that it allows you to keep growing.

ABSOLUTELY. That would be fun.

I'll post my starting stuff from the site in the morning when I get back on.

I've even got my Day 0 pictures to post at the forums on beachbody and we could post them here too if you'd like and at the end post side by side Day 0 and Day 90 pictures. Unfortunately my day 0 pictures are horrifying. :(

Yep I'm still committed. I started yesterday and knocked out Chest/Back & Ab Ripper X and this morning I knocked out day two which was Plyometrics. So two days down.
