Well as many of you asked, here I am Monday morning. I thought I have to eat crow so this feels different for a change. I'm not here to gloat and here are some obversations from the game that might interest you.

It was the other scenarios that had us wondering. Glad you could stop back by though after the big win.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:
First off, I though the Saints would lose. Everybody thought the Saint would lose. That's what we do. The Cowboys laid an egg. Your team is better than that. Way better. I guess what really hurts is that Dallas really has no excuses.

None whatsoever. Although, I clearly noted earlier in the week that the x factor would be Sean Payton. I have no doubt he probably used to own Zimmer's defense back when he practiced against him every day.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:
T.O. has no heart. Where did he go last night? Saints CB Fred Thomas is an average CB. He got beat like a drum against the Bengals WR Charles Johnson. I thought TO would own him.
I disagree. This is one game in which Romo looked mortal. Romo will bounce back and TO played fine last night.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:
Romo is a pretty good QB but Leon can't do it all. He looked like a young QB still learning how to play the game. The Saints played outstanding defense (can't believe I said that) and Romo had nowhere to throw the football. Usually Dallas's offense is designed to let Romo makes plays outside the pocket. This creates a match up problem with the Saints because the Saints DL was built to stop Mike Vick. Our DE are fast and know how to rush the passer. Compared to Vick, stopping Romo's scrambling was childs play. What I can't believe is that the Saints defense had everything down field covered.

Once again, I will point to what I knew. Payton would have the Saints ready to play against the team he coached in years past. It's just too bad the Saints don't play the Cowboys every week. We'll rebound against the Falcons and both teams will thrive in the playoffs.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:

Your cast off LBs continue to play outstanding football. I would like to thank everyone involved.

I would like to thank Mike Zimmer for not showing up last night. I just ordered a lifetime supply of smelling salts for him.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:

Romo is no Brees. 1/2 a season does not a quarterback make. Here to hoping the this game was a fluke for Romo.

This game was a fluke. Once again, I point to the x factor who showed his former boss that he can put points on the board when allowed to coach without limits.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:

The Saints may have taught the league how to stop the Cowboys offense and exposed how to exploit the Cowboy's defense. One thing is for sure, we gave the Cowboys something to think about.

Thank Sean Payton. He laid out some nice game film for the rest of our opponents to watch. This will be a true test of Parcells and his coaching staff (namely Zimmer)

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:

My biggest fear for Cowboy fans is that Atlanta is a very good team. If the Saints lose to them, the Falcons record would be 9-4 instead of 7-6. Atlanta is capable of playing up to a 9-4 record or a 4-9 record. I look for them to be up for the game. Romo will be tested. There running game is unbelievable. They can eat the clock up. This is no cake walk.

We will take care of what we need to take care of. If that happens to help you then so be it.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:

Come on Dallas... Beat the Falcons. I don't want to play them again and besides, you owe us big. We will be pulling for you.

See previous reply where it pertains to the Falcons game.

SaintsFanMan;1225813 said:
In the end it was like I told you. Pick your poison. The Saints offense reminds me of the Rams Greatest Show on Turf a few years ago, but unlike many Rams teams, the Saints defense can make some plays too. The Saints #1 offense is a match up nightmare for defenses and (I can't believe I'm saying this) for real.
The true test of a team comes in the playoffs when teams take it up a notch. This is when you'll know how good your team is. I do fully stand by my assertion that Sean Payton had loads to do with what took place last night.

See ya in the NFC Championship Game!!!! That would be great. We don't want to play in Chicago in January.

We hope to still see you around here at that time. Best of luck to you and your Saints.

If you can run the #1 offense in New Orleans, you should be anoited.
The Bengal game was filled with turnovers. We stopped ourselves.

What's with all the "I don't want to play you again stuff?" Don't you want a rematch? You owe us and you have to beat the best to be the best anyway. Would you rather play in Chicago in January.

See you in the playoffs.

I didn't say I didn't want to play you guys again. You don't get handed anything. He's done nothing in this league. #1 offenses don't win championships, ask Peyton. Your defense is giving up 5.1ypc, 31st in the league. Run on the Saints keep the offense on the bench, and you'll win, or have agood shot at it. But as I said, running it 12 times a game won't get that done.

We know the only reason you stopped by was to rub it in our face. So, you've had your fun. Now go away.

Yea... but we were a very young team and the improvements in the last 3 weeks showed up last night in a big way.

Well playing the #1 rushing offense (Atlanta) will tend to do that to you. We are a very young team and are starting to jell at the right time.

You might have noticed that last night.

I just dont understand why it is so easy for decent defenses to take this guy out of the game plan.

Two reasons:

1. TO aint as good as he was. Age is catching up with him. I was surprised at how well he was being covered by an average corner.

2. Maybe he really doesn't give it all like we thought he did.

that's absolutely true! We were healthy, at home, and playing well. We have a decided talent advantage. What we didn't have....was Sean Payton and Drew Brees, the only two guys that killed us.

T.O. has no heart. Where did he go last night? Saints CB Fred Thomas is an average CB. He got beat like a drum against the Bengals WR Charles Johnson. I thought TO would own him.

I can't stand TO as much as anyone, but the guy does compete. What it looked like to me is that the inferior NO secondary seriously knew each route our WRs were going to run before they ran them. Otherwise, there's no way they stick to our WRs like they did. We have one of the top WR corps in the league and I don't think many would argue that.

Compared to Vick, stopping Romo's scrambling was childs play. What I can't believe is that the Saints defense had everything down field covered.

I really didn't think Romo played all that poorly. When I saw his view downfield on replays, its true, NO ONE was open. That is because Payton knows our playbook a little too well and BP didn't have any new wrinkles for him. I wasn't shocked that NO put up points on us, I was SHOCKED that we didn't put up 30 on a VERY average, but extremely well prepared and disciplined defense.

Your cast off LBs continue to play outstanding football. I would like to thank everyone involved.
The NO LBs still wouldn't start in Dallas, they still wouldn't get PT in Dallas. They play and play well in NO system though. But I really can't say that NO's LBs are anything more than average.

Romo is no Brees. 1/2 a season does not a quarterback make. Here to hoping the this game was a fluke for Romo.

I commented on Romo's night. Brees looked like the best QB in football last night. IMO, he played a PERFECT game. He went to the exact right place with the ball almost 100% of the time. It was truly amazing. But again, when you have the other team's playbook memorized, it makes it a little easier to dissect that team. But Brees was nothing short of phenomenal.

The Saints may have taught the league how to stop the Cowboys offense and exposed how to exploit the Cowboy's defense. One thing is for sure, we gave the Cowboys something to think about.

I'm not as worried about our defense, really I'm not. There was nothing from last night's performance that surprised anyone here about our defense.....A) lack of passrush...B) Safeties can't cover....etc. I also don't think another QB in the league could've done what Brees did last night.
What concerns me was our lack of offense. I didn't like our playcalling. But I still felt like we allowed some very average dbs blanket our WRs and all of our routes leaving Romo NO WHERE to throw it. Maybe we don't have enough variety in our passing game or offensive playbook in general. That is reason for concern.

I'm not nearly as worried about Atl. They don't have a coach who designed our playbook and know it inside and out. And they don't have a Drew Brees. We can stop the run and Vick just isn't accurate. However, we BETTER learn really fast how to cover the backs in the short and flat. I also think we'll be able to bounce back and this game will be a wake up for us.

The Saints don't have near the talent as the Rams did. Faulk by himself was Bush plus Deuce combined. Colston and Horn are not Holt and Bruce. Brown is not Pace. However, NO coaching staff is amazing. I've never seen such an average talented team so well prepared and execute so well. Imagine what Payton would do with Brees and Arizona's offensive talent.

See ya in the NFC Championship Game!!!! That would be great. We don't want to play in Chicago in January.

I hope so. We may have an advantage then, I think Payton pulled out every trick and the kitchen sink for this game and I don't think Brees could play such a perfect again twice against us.

See to me, this excuse is just as easy as the horrid excuse that "Payton knew us better than we know ourselves".

Please, San Francisco and the Eagles had absolutely no problem getting this guy the ball. Yes, the guy is a little older (in the Case of SF, alot older) but I doubt his skills have diminished so much that you cant throw the guy a pass over the middle or you are forced to throw deep balls to him all game.

I absolutely cannot stand Me-Owens but to put a good portion of the loss on his shoulders and to start saying "maybe he isnt as good as we thought" is totally foolish.

Has his skilled diminished since he was a youngun in SF, sure, I will give you that, but the kicker is you PUT Owens on the New Orleans Saints or another team that has a creativity play caller and I can almost gurantee you that he is the T.O. everyone is use too.

I disagree. I am the 2nd Biggest T.O. hater on this board behind Mrs. LTN.

Anyway, the Cowboys coaching staff has to be more creative in trying to get arguably the best Wideout in football the ball.

Several things wrong with this post. First. I am the biggest el dorado detractor ever born. The Mrs aint got nothing on me.

2ndly. Why would we be trying to get the ball to Ladanian Tomlinson, Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne or Ocho Cinco. They dont play for us. As for getting the ball to el dorado, Why bother, so he can drop em some more.

How bout getting a real Oline for a change, or is ours still thebest in football now that Romos back there. The Oline has never been good, for Bledsoe or Romo.

Simply not true. I have resisted the urge which I must admit is hard to do.

I can't think of another team I want to meet in the playoffs besides Dallas and that's not because we beat you. It's because I have respect for your coaching staff and the reputation Dallas has.

It's just good spirited Gotcha. I made a promise to be here last week win or lose. I would have been here eating crow if we would have lost.

Beat the Falcons and we will see you in the playoffs.
