Nors you're embarrasing yourself by believing that Bledsoe is the equal of Dan Fouts... it's almost too ridiculous to contemplate.

Dan Fouts was one of the finest passers I've ever seen. His release was "Marinoesque" before there was a "Marino".

I honestly thought you could be open and honest to admit that as a passer Dan Fouts has few equals... Marino, Moon and probably one day Manning. You could probably put Tarkenton in that class too.

Where do you get that? He only missed significant playing time in one season, 1977. He played in 181 out of 219 possible games over a 15 year career. Seems pretty durable to me. You really can reach.

Those are his stats - sorry

Great passers?

Tarkenton, Montana, Elway, Favre, Manning, Aikman, Marino.

Fouts not in that class - albeit in Hall. Just because I compare 3 similar QB's in Moon, Fouts and Bledsoe, I am NOT saying Fouts sucked. Just that they were more similar than disimilar.

I grew up watching Fouts - air coryell and chuck it around. What also stands out is a QB that never won much of anything in playoffs..... And a QB with 254 career TD's and ALSO 242 Career Interceptions. Thats the facts.

Marino had the quickest release and Fouts and Moon had the best pure consistant spirals...man they could throw the long ball.

And Fouts played when you could knock a QBs head off and not get a penalty...now you fart on a QB while you pass him and get a roughing the passer penalty.

Tarkenton was M Vick but a passer as well.

You see DTs talking to this day how they would chase Tarkenton in the backfield forever only for him to finally thrown a pass down the field.
They said they would be wore out after one of those chase plays as he was a like a water bug back there.

I like bledsoe...but he was not in those guys leagues.

Now as a passer he was better IMO then some of the HOFers...just not THOSE HOFers.

Just think about your chances of scoring. Good pneumonic device to keep it fresh in your memory.

(Disclaimer...I do not have any ill will for Tony Romo. I like him. Just no patience for stooges.)

I recognized the reference. I was questioning how you could look at those stats and come up with Fouts not being durable. Those stats don't say that at all. That is the part you made up. You just happend to respond with some nonsense. Maybe it is you who runs the chuck and duck. :D

Fouts did have 242 INTs and that was in an era when the rules didn't favor the receiver and QB as much as they do now. It is easier to avoid throwing interceptions in today's NFL. That is why no one should be happy with a Cowboys QB throwing bunches of them, like 21, 20 & 17 the last three season. I guess you look at Johnny Unitas and think he isn't better than Bledsoe either because he has 253 INTs. By the way, Johnny U still has a higher passer rating than Bledsoe.

Next time someone tries to downplay Bledsoe's accomplishments due to longevity remember the following:

1) Perserverence is one of the criteria to be judged.

2) Drew has done all this at age 33. Hall of Famer Warren Moon played untill he was I believe 45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets put it this way.....Bledsoe has a chance to catch Marino IF he plays as long as Mr. Dan did. Surely Marino didnt suck?

Slippery slope.

Thread started to show the similarities of Bledsoe's career to date to Haller Fouts and Moon. It's laughable that some equate Bledsoe to "sucks" with what he has done on the football field. Guys that suck don't throw for 50,000 yards. In fact I believe only 3 have ever reached that milestone.

I'm pulling for him and Parcells to get that 6th Lombardi for the Cowboys. Then its slam dunk Hall induction for Drew.....
