The Cowboys have no intention of exercising the option for a fifth season on Morris Claiborne’s contract, but no official announcement is expected until after the draft, a source said.

In recent days, 15 players have had their options picked up by clubs that selected them in the first round of the 2012 draft. Claiborne isn’t among them and the source said he’s “not a priority’’ at the moment as the club focuses on the draft.

Wouldn't the price have been really high for that 4th year anyway?
Plus, I was thinking they had awhile to make that decision in the first place.

I thought they already picked it up??

I thought they had already picked it up, too. Or maybe the report was that they would (not did) pick it up. if they haven't chosen to exercise the option, they still have this next season (as limited as it might be) to evaluate whether they want to try to keep him.

Yeah, that they're busy is the reason they aren't picking up the 5th year option.

I'm sure they would have already done it if they would have only had the time.
