Moore to Safety?

Speaking of Ball, he had a descent season as the starting CB for Jaguars last year and he is starting for them this year. TBH, I thought he'd be out of the league by now.

Have you seen the Jags secondary?

Yep. I'd move him to safety in a heartbeat. Let Wilcox spend more time learning.

Learning his natural position of SS that Church is occupying? Church is a reliable vet and actually respect him for his tackling ability (only one in the secondary so far) but his speed will always be something he simply can't compensate for in coverage. Wilcox is still finding confidence, but that is where he should end up. A guy who just started playing S his senior year in college has the "higher" responsibility of coverage (smh). Let him roam in the box to showcase his aggression. I know the team would have to research a draftee or FA, but this two SS personnel is getting too old regarding coverage gaffes. I'm happy so far but the team hasn't faced a real QB yet either...

But we got Heath as backup, why mess up a good thing?

I don't know how taking him off the field helps him learn. You learn by playing. I wouldn't mess with him.

Let him learn in practice. :)

Seriously, the only major problem this defense has had is the guarding of TE's which is primarily a safety's responsibility.

I like Wilcox as a player but if you have a better player on the roster (at the moment), then you go with the better player.

And Moore is only 1 year older than Wilcox so it's not like you're putting some old guy out there.

Cornell Green, Mel Renfro, Ronnie Lott, and Charles Woodson may disagree with what you've learned.

Well tell you what. If Sterling Moore is a Green, Renfro, Lott or Woodson? Put him back there. But i'm not even sure if he's a starter in this league let alone a Hall of Famer.

Every year there is some DB who shows something and this thread invariably will pop up.

26 Moore, Sterling CB 5-10 20024 4 Southern Methodist

Does this size look like a safety to you?

Well then, the way McClain caught the ball, should Dallas make him a tight end?

How about the way Garrett has Red hair, should Dallas pump him full of steroids and make him into Carrot Top?

Alan Ball was a decent corner.. decent that is but a horrible safety.
