More to his suspension than his agent is giving you...you're only getting one part of the whole story, the part his agent want to try to spin!
Collins screwed himself...plain and simple!
In accordance with my previous posts, these all sound like very good reasons to miss testing.Collins missed multiple drug tests, according to sources, but he also believes there are valid reasons for almost each missed test.
One missed test came in November on the day that Cowboys strength and conditioning coach Markus Paul died and the organization sent all its players home to allow them to grieve.
Another missed test came on the day of Collins' uncle's funeral in Arizona, according to a source. The Cowboys gave Collins permission to leave Dallas and tend to his family, the source told ESPN.
A third missed test came on the day Collins underwent hip surgery in October. The league counted a positive test for codeine against him, but Collins was prescribed the drug after having the surgery.
Collins didn't have any positive marijuana tests during the past 18 months. His representatives also have argued that under the drug policy in the new collective bargaining agreement, suspensions aren't permitted for missed tests.

People in here legitimately falling for the dog ate my homework excuse
Question.
Do the players know about these tests beforehand or are they actually random?
NOt really if they push hard on appealIt’s too late to overturn now
People in here legitimately falling for the dog ate my homework excuse
I would too but the league is bound by NFLPA agreement not to put out reasons for suspension other than the normal statement of broke rules regarding agreementI'd love to see the leagues side.
I see why you feel that way.i cant see how he cant win reduced sentence and fair is fair one game is enough punishment's given the circumstances ie real excuses..RG is annoying ,do the rights thing or retire ..can we impeach Roger?? im serious this isnt homer response the punishment's are so all over the place no consistency's and appeals are a joke he would win an appeal just with the facts that all over the internet..
LC has legit argument for reduced sentence..
Allegation and investigation is ongoing, if there's a charge, then he'll be put on the league suspension listYet nothing for Deshaun Watson?
well, he missed at least 7 tests that we know of per reports..Based on what?
He did so again nothing is consistent, he should have been allowed to play until appeal is exhausted,..i would not be upset if a soprano took care of Goodel..he swims with the fishesI see why you feel that way.
In a court of law, Collins has a great defense.
In the court of Goodell, forget it.
As much as I'm saying here that Collins can't be held blameless based on what we know, the length of the suspension is outrageous.
Did he actually file an appeal? Players are usually allowed to play during that time because of presumed innocence.
How is the league supposed to remedy the situation if Collins prevails in appeal?
Only thing I can think of is Jerry has intel that it may be reduced, but not thrown out entirely and they'd rather him miss now than later.
Thays a pure guess, but all that can be done when things make little sense on the surface.
You are acting as if these tests are scheduled. They are not. It's not like he can look at the calendar and say, oh, I have a piss test today...Failed one drug test and decided against taking at least two others.
As insensitive as it may sound, those are the rules.
He and the team should know this.
If anything is unfair, it's the length of the suspension.
That I'll agree with.....but everyone knows Goodell and how he is with this stuff.
Not showing up for drug tests is beyond dumb.
Using the excuse that the "team sent us home" is a clear lack of chain of command comprehension.
Really, I hate feeling this way.....but I can't see Collins as blameless here.
Get used to it. The NFL league office is full Cowboy haters and heavily populated with NYG lovers. Being fair has nothing to do with anything with these folks. Elliott is a turd but he was skrewed by these folks in an attempt to skrew the team as is going on now.
Don't think the long stretches in 2017 (7 games) and 2018 (11 games) without the opposing team getting an offensive line holding call is coincidence. Owners like Blank and Kraft despise Dallas and the Rooney klan is not far behind. Again, this is a good ol boys club not a fairly run democratic society. They have agendas and do what they want from Park Avenue, NY.
