If I were a Bengals fan, I'd be furious. He's an embarrassment. This whole idea is a total joke. How badly can one man crave attention?

The sidelines are meant for making adjustments, talking to your coaches, your quarterback, etc.. the same as halftime. He's making a mockery of football.

I've gone from liking him to strongly disliking him.

Not upset at all, tired of primadonnas in the NFL and tired of having to hear about them.

Actually, I take that back.. I am a bit upset that this is considered "Breaking News". When the hell can we get some real football news? And just for clarification, I liked him a couple years back.. over the past season, season and a half, he's turned into an attention-craving loser.

He's the Michael Jackson of football, a part from that football Michael Jackson that played for the Ravens, which is to say all he does is put on a show and act like a victim when he misbehaved.

When he wanted to have his name changed to "Ocho Cinco" it told me all I ever wanted to know about the guy.

Where is Bill Maher's "Get over yourself" award these days?

In truth, in addition to his wide receiver abilities, that is the only other thing that I actually respect him for. Instead of him crying, "I have a nickname and you should call me that", he went ahead and legally changed his name. It's a simple, inexpensive process, which will net both him and the league plenty of cash in merchandising.

Regardless of how nutty it may be, he felt that strongly about it and did something about it. The same cannot be said of players such as the Adam Joneses and Terrell Owenses of the NFL.

...not to mention that his skills are going down the crapper.

True, but he'll probably manage to squeeze out another huge contract before his playing days are over. Maybe the Bills will help him out with that.

Mornin' Sarge. :)

Mornin' DE - . You're right - he'll prolly find some sucker team ie: Raiders/Skins to ultimately sign him. Sucker in every crowd.

I do think it's "cool," but highly disruptive to a team and wouldn't want any players on the team I follow doing it. ... if that makes any sense.

I fail to see how anybody doing something like this where they desperately crave attention as 'cool.' I'm not knocking you, but I come from the school of thought that legit cool people don't need attention.

I guess I am really old.

I can't see this actually happening. I doubt the NFL would allow him to do that during games, on the sidelines, and such.

Hmm...so he's going to concentrate on football and twitter during a game instead of just football.

Nice.

At least we know where his priorities are.

Goodell says no sideline tweeting

Joe Flint of the Los Angeles Times reports Twitter may be catching fire everywhere, but don't look your favorite NFL football players to be sending out tweets during the game.

That's the word from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, when asked whether the league would institute a ban on players using Twitter while on the football field.

Goodell, who is attending the Allen & Co. conference in Sun Valley, said in a brief interview that while the league has not said anything official about Twitter, he expects it will soon. He thought the league's current policy about the use of electronic devices during the game would need to be updated for Twitter. Although the intent of the rules are clear, Goodell feels that the more specific you can be with the teams the better.

Among the issues besides tweeting during the game are whether players should be allowed to tweet just before and after games and during halftime.

Many athletes have built huge followings on Twitter and some see it as a way to communicate without the filter of the press. Of course, Goodell isn't saying that players can't tweet, he just doesn't want them doing it when they should be worried about what play the team is running.

Ochocinco is unhappy about NFL's No-Tweet rule

You would expect Chad Ochocinco to have a response to the NFL rule which prohibit the use of mobile phones or other hand-held devices in the bench area during games. He responded via Twitter of course with the following Tweet:

Damn NFL and these rules, I am going by my own set of rules, I ain't hurting nobody or getting in trouble, I am putting my foot down!!

We aren't quite sure what Chad means by putting is foot down. Perhaps he is talking about stomping his foot and throwing a fit.

Talking bad about a rule and talking back to the commish. Not a good idea.

Actually, it is time for the Commish to put his foot down.
1 year suspension for disrespecting orders. And I bet no one will mimic this overgrown baby's behavior. He can go tweet at home.

Let's see what you are made of, commish.
