Morning Pops, Leon, ologan, Phil, JB, ABQ, Sarge, Kristie. Have a great day and weekend. Stay safe. Both the drinkers and police are out in force.
Morning Pop's, Leon, Jobb, and all others awake members of our extended Cowboy's family.
You're right, Jobb.....The law and the amateurs are still out in force. That's why I normally stay around the house on holidays, even in a small town like this. The traffic on US 441, which goes right thru town carrying lot's of folks to places like the Great Smoky Mt. Park, Cherokee, Asheville, and others, is crazy now. During holidays like the 4th and Memorial/Labor Day, the prevalent sound is sirens going to pick up the injured on the rivers/lakes, or hopefully not serious car accidents. My wild days are far behind me, and now the song "all my rowdy friends have settled down" has evolved into " all my rowdy friends are breaking down".
Still, come Sunday evening, when all the mad traffic rush reverses itself, and the tired, sunburned or waterlogged, drunk folks come back thru on their way to the big city, our peaceful little piece of heaven will quiet down again. The rivers will empty, except for the trash and beer cans left, which we will police up when heading for our favorite, now empty trout holes.
