FEATURED Morning Pops!

Morning Pops, ABQ, Kristie, and later arrivals. Whew....glad to see folks reporting in. I was afraid there had been a "Jim Jones" kool-aid party after last Sunday's game!

Morning Pops! Morning Ologan, morning Jobs, morning Bob, morning Leon, morning Phil, morning Kristie. Good morning Sarge, I hope you are up and reading today. Morning to all who have ever posted in this thread. Good morning to any who may stop by to check this thread out.

This thread is in memory of Cbz40, Weldon Parkhill, "Pops" to many of his friends on this board. I think it started as a goodbye of sorts, to a person that meant a great deal to many, many, many of us. Over the last few years, a number of new posters have joined the board and as a result, never had a chance to meet Pops. That's unfortunate because had you, you would have been better off for it. He was just that decent of a human being. Over the years, I think this thread has become more for us then for Pops and that's OK. I know it has become that way for me. A place I can come and just say hello to good folks, start the day right if you will and the thread is about just trying to be as close as I can be to the kind of person Pops was and that's not always easy to do on a message board as big as this one. Still, I do try to live up to Pop's standards and I'm a better person for it.

Maybe this thread's time has come, I don't know. I hope not but if it has, that's fine. I'm thankful for the fellowship it's provided over the years and it's just another reason I'm grateful for the friendship I was fortunate enough to have with Pops.

I'm headed home today, will be good to get home. I hope all of you have a great Friday and an even better weekend. Take good care everyone. Take a moment, even if it's just a minute or two, and be thankful if you can.

Morning Pops and morning all. Thanks ABQ for reminding (or telling some for the first time) what this thread is all about......Use to start my day reading the articles that Pops posted and saying morning to him...Usually in a post that said "how's the coffee, Pops". Usually chatted by pm a little. He is missed still. It it weird to keep a thread going this long --not at all....Good morning Pops is just keeping a piece of something good that is leaving this world way to fast.

God Bless and have a cup on me.
 
Morning Pops and friends of Pops, whether you knew him or not. It matters not if you weren't fortunate enough to have a cup of coffee, figuratively or otherwise, with him and others on this board. It's about keeping his spirit alive in the hearts of those who knew him, and teaching new arrivals the intrinsic value of what used to be commonplace in America, the selfless remembrance of friends and times.
I would sure hope that this threads time to fade away will never come, for I feel that in today's world, we would never see another like it. Morning Pops!

Morning, Pops. Morning everyone. I echo the sentiments about CBZ40 (Weldon) above. Well, I'm back from Missouri and got to greet my new grandson into this world. They named him Amos, after my father who was a model citizen and a better human being.

Morning Pops, ABQ, Leon, Phil, Bob, ologan, Christie, and the rest of the gang. Getting tired of being on vacation and ready to come home. At least we have a kitchenette now and I'm getting some good food. Hope you all are having a good week.
