Morning fellas. Hope everybody is good to go for another great day.

Leon, I saw on the news yesterday that you had 50 foot surf at Waikiki. That true? I thought that was pretty unusual for that side of the islands?

Good morning, Pops and good morning to everybody else. My wife and I were watching the news and noted the waves. Apparently these waves are the biggest in a few years. The pictures and video are pretty amazing. The Big Wave Invitational in Memory of Eddie Aikau website has it all. As for myself, I "surfed" a big wave of snow in my car this morning. The good news is that it's the fine, light fluffy stuff. The bad news is that we're getting some more. Stay warm guys.

ABQ, I doubt they had 50 foot surf at Waikiki but I'm not sure. The north shore of Oahu is where they get the big surf and they had predicted 50 foot surf there.

They had the "Eddie" there yesterday. It is a surfing competition named after Eddie Akau (sp) who specialized in surfing big water. They only hold the competition when the waves exceed a certain height. I think it is 30 feet, but could be 20. Consequently it is not held every year.

There is something seriously wrong with having to chip ice off my car in Sacramento. Days like this make me dream of retirement in Jamaica.

I never noticed you lived in Sacramento, M'Kevon. I grew up in Marysville and Yuba City and worked in Sac for 35 years. I remember scraping the ice too.

I have to break ice in the morning for cattle and horses--no way I will live where you drive on the ice----couple of days in the 20's and then we go back to the 40 or 50----Stay warm Phil.
