Good morning, Cbz and all Zoners. Zax, although Thanksgiving was an American creation, we are quite happy to take on any celebration that involves food.;) Roasted Turkey is a mainstay for most of us, but I'm sure that there are other variations. (Curried turkey, anyone)

BTW, asking a question like this is not ignorance, it's polite curiosity. As usual, your manners are impeccable. Pay attention, the rest of you young'uns.

Good morning, Cbz and good morning, fellow Zoners. Bob, it looks like you've got the travel bug. We've got company from Switzerland. Our exchange student from Zurich has returned for a visit after being away for 18 years. My wife is thrilled to have him back and she's stuffing him full of food. I am an indirect beneficiary of this and I'm not complaining.

I got my long walk in yesterday when the Mrs got the idea that we should go to the local Corn Maze. We spent three hours wandering between rows of corn, encountering lost teenagers and puzzled groups of Japanese tourists . My eldest son is good at navigating, but I barely had enough gas left to shoot the pumpkin cannon. Our target was a school bus about 75 yards way, but people were still finding ways to miss. I am proud to declare that, should the Zombies begin to overwhelm us, I will dispatch them without hesitation with said pumpkin cannon.

Glad your doing good Phil... Two and a half days in Houston doing a presentation at the Swafs conference and Waco next week (driving my wife).
My wife has meeting there. Comes in spurts ,but you take it when you can.:D

Morning all,

Been busy the wife went back to work full time (somebody has too)...though it just galls me to death that she "had" to instead of "wanted" to.. I would have prefered that I was the bread winner again...I know that is an old fashion way of thinking and all but it use to be like that in my time where Dad went out to work and Mom took care of the house or did a part time job if she wanted to...and as I am still alive it still is my time...though the wife told me to get over myself and stop being silly... still it just burns me :mad: up.

Going to go look at a house further in the country on Saturday...the car exhaust were I am living now is weighing heavy on me because of the stupid lung problem... If we like the place the wife will try and get a transfer to that area though it means she will have to probably take the manager job there which means she will be even less at home than she is now :(.

I am taking care of the 2 little girls now and they are growing up to be good little soldiers but their Mom keeps reminding me that they aren't soldiers but 2 little girls and should be treated as such but heck I mostly know soldiering and very little of raising 2 little girls... I raised my 2 boys like they were soldiers and they turned out just fine figured it should work again.

I also am learning to cook not by any school course but by simple trial and error so far it has been mostly error... The girls were hiding under the kitchen table when I told them I was cooking them up some chicken and dumplings with fried bread...came out rather well I thought...The wife told me not to even think about doing the laundry as we simply don't have the money to replace all the clothes...It can't be that hard can it? I mean the machine does all the work don't it?

Today I am going to make potato soup with the left over Chicken soup...already looking up some recipes for chili.

Zax, enjoy the quality time with your girls, as it is special. Do you get the cooking channel in Germany? Lot of good dishes served up there and the recipes are all on line at foodtv.com. take care friend.

Zax Throw enough chilli peppers in there and everything taste great...Can't go wrong with hot peppers in everything and on the side.I can tell you at least 10 one pan meals that taste great and crock pot carne gusada that will make get up in the middle of the night for another bowl. Take care of the soldiers and teach them how to cook to....Keep getting better my friend(wonder if they ever tried a double cow lung replacement

lol ... If you got good recipes I'm all ears...

We have cooking shows here Leon...But they make it all look ridiculously simple... I am quite capable of burning water. :eek::
