Were you on a lake or on the ocean? Is there a story to share?

We're at the Charleston City Marina in downtown Charleston SC. We're on the Ashley River moored at the dock in protected water. Current at tide is 4kts or so but otherwise no waves and I'm on a 38 ft cat anyway.

We were out on a 25 ft day sailer yesterday (Catalina sloop) and my wife enjoyed the heck out of that. It was chilly but got in the low 60s with 12-15kt winds out of the northeast. Nearing sunset the wind subsided to 5kts or less so we had to motor up the tide and sail down river with the tide. Today we are out on the same boat for part of the day then back to class. Tomorrow we'll switch to a 44 Bavaria sloop and do some coastal sailing and some night navigation with a trip overnight to the Edisto river. We'll work the Robertson and Caine 38 cat and overnight it as well. That'll end it for the Admiral but I'm taking the advanced navigation course either on a 38 mono or the 44 Bavarian for a couple days and then back home Saturday night or Sunday morning. That's the plan anyways. May rain Wednesday but temps are supposed to be in the mid 70s much of the week and the wind will likely stay 5-15+kts during the day. Beautiful skies here and lots of fun.

Good Morning Pops, all my regular friends, and any who drop by the say hello. Slept well but up early due to old age I guess. The Admiral is still asleep. Didn't realize we we're going to DST so it's almost 6AM here already. I'm having grits and eggs this AM or maybe traditional Chinese vegetable soup with my wife but I'm getting stone grits with creme and shrimp for lunch today. This is a traditional low country dish.

Hope you all have a great day. We're expecting fair winds, clear skies and temps near 70 and wouldn't be surprised to see mid 70s by 2.

sure sounds like fun,Jobberone. I love the Charleston/Savannah double play,as far as east coast cities go. Neat towns! Never been into sailing myself,but I bet y'all are having a blast! Enjoy and above all,stay safe.

BTW, maybe sometime in the future you will share your favorite restaurant selections there.
