I think we are just getting used to Zeke's burst. Morris ain't a quick/fast back. He's a patient back that has vision.
Very true.

He needs to get in a groove type of back.

He can't light it up with 4 carries........

I know this will draw ire from some of my fellow Zoners, but Morris has really been lackluster when he comes in for Zeke recently. There is quite a bit of drop off when he comes in.

The few series he played we were totally ineffective running the ball and he really hasn't been used much in the passing game.

It is a small sample size but quite honestly he hasn't been nearly good enough. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Looks like he's running in molasses.

Did Dunbar play a single down?

I think a few more screens to these guys could really up things up.

I think he had one or two tough runs. My observation was several of his being subbed in was Zeke promoted. I know for sure the one goal line situation (where Zeke took the pass in left flat and tried to score) was. I think Zeke was expelling a lot of energy and needed a play or two to get back on track. I'm ok with it.

Maybe, just maybe, this shows that not anyone can be the best back in the league behind this line. And maybe Zeke is really good.

Not sure you can go off 3 carries a game.
There will be long runs, short runs, and negative runs.Actually, I think that was Morris night. He started with a 8 yard run, and then got stuffed. One of those runs the defense played it perfectly and got to him in the backfield.

Obviously, Zeke is the complete package, and is athletically superior to Morris but I can't say Morris can't run behind this line when he gets 3 carries a game.

He's is/was the type of back that gets 3-5 yards a carry and then when the defense got tired and their technique faded he would then become a bowling ball.

I said it when we signed him--he is not a change of pace back. He's a starter that needs to establish a rhythm. Though, he is good insurance if something happened to Zeke.

That's the best sig ever!

He doesn't have Zeke's burst, but most RBs have to get into a rhythm. Hopefully, he doesn't have to play enough to get into a good rhythm.

He hasn't gotten many chances and he is probably a guy who gets better after getting 4-5 carries in short amount of time. I was expecting more Joe Randle runs though when he was subbed in for Demarco. It just looks like he has not found a groove with his 3-5 carries a game.

You can't draw any conclusions from. 3 carries a game. Not that he stinks, not that he needs to get in s rhythm to be successful, nothing. It's 3 carries: it means nothing.

I would like to see Jackson get a shot. Wouldn't hurt to get him some play time anyways. Let's see if we have a player or need another back

He's spelling Zeke on obvious running situations. It's apples-to-oranges comparing the two without context.

Bucs lost another RB, down to just one. Maybe McFadden could be a trade option there.

Morris appears to be a rhythm back who needs carries to be effective. His carries have gone down each year and so has his rushing average. One thing that Morris's lack of effectiveness has proven this season is that the back matters and that you still need a real solid back to have a consistent running game regardless how good your OL is. Those who think you can stick any back behind our OL and have a great running game have found out the past two seasons that's not the case and Alfred Morris is just another example.

McFadden hasn't played all season and with him missing all of training camp and preseason no one will want him. It may only take a few carries before he pulls a hamstring.

Thats the real problem..he is not getting enough work! With Elliott playing so well i is unlikely he will get much more than a few plays a game. He is still a solid back up to Elliott.
Yes sir. He's not getting reps and can't get any rhythm going.

His role is to spell zeke for 3-5 touches a game. He is a back that needs to be fed consistently. If Zeke gets hurt Morris's value is taking over the every down duties. While not as flashy he can do a lot of thing Zeke does just not a hr hitter.

They haven't gotten him going when they probably should have-- like late in games that were already in hand.

He actually had a really great run right before the loss of yards.

He should only be used to spell Zeke in games that aren't huge... Like next week
