Morris over McFadden?

Pretty simple really.

Morris had a better camp. McFadden hasn't done anything to be handed that job...if anything Morris is a much more accomplished runner.

I think our most overrated position is our running back depth. I would take some younger guys with fresh legs and upside over a couple declining veterans any day.

I am completely with you on younger guys. Don't like two aging vets as our backup RBs. We should be developing some young talent.

I don't know, but we really need to invest in our RB corps next off-season.

I think someone said he had a hamstring issue.

I don't get the Morris affection either. There is nothing he does that stands out to me. He had a good camp last year too I believe and then was pretty blah the regular season. McFadden is no stud himself but he just seems to have a better chance at doing something here............ he can catch, he's apparently a better pass blocker.

We need to draft another TB next year or find a young project in FA.

That doesn't explain why Morris was active over McFadden last night. I thought I read that McFadden was nicked up a bit, but not sure.
I haven't seen the nicked up talk, but I think most everyone was surprised by the decision. Just a guess.

My theory is they were being cautious in case Zeke loses the fight this week, not that Morris is necessarily #2.
This is correct I believe.

They aren't sure Zeke is out of the woods, so they want McFadden fresh if not.

Liked for the 2nd part.

Morris might have had a better camp, but the coaches have to realize that one guy is actually better in game.

Morris has had a hard time with ZB schemes, dating back to his last year with the skins.

But yeah. I wish we still had some more youth on the depth chart.

... I like Smith, though.

Morris needs more carries to be effective and lacks the speed to get to the edge.

McFadden should be backing Zeke up imo. He is use to coming in and out of the game, he's been doing since college when he shared the backfield with Felix Jones.
