Remember that tempest in a teapot?

Well, Matt Mosley is covering all the NFC East teams for his ESPN blog, and this week he's at Giants camp. Seems that they're all making a huge deal out of the "get your ring finger ready" comment. Coughlin is big on bulletin board material, and he has it plastered everywhere. The players are all talking about it, too.

The funny thing is that Mosley and even Galloway, who to say the least are NOT Wade Phillips fans (they actually beat him down constantly), are defending Wade, saying that he was only mocking a guy in the crowd and wasn't serious when he said that.

But this shows why some of us were PO'd at Mac Engel for blowing a non-story up into a story.

Oh, and Mosley also says there's just as much "grab-a" going on in Giants camp as there is at ours. So everyone saying how soft our camp is can say they same thing about that of the Super Bowl champs and their notoriously tough coach.

thanks again mac engle. Your the best.

for what its worth, the giants are the sorriest champions I can ever remember.

Why they are so obsessed with our team is beyond me.

after watching what people do with stories from the reaction of that stupid draft board in phillips office if I were a coach I would talk even less than belichick and parcells.

Giving the giants ammo like that is uncalled for, especially when it wasnt even intended to be a bold statement.

again, thanks mac engle. Maybe next year they can send you to china.

Amazing how that team will go so far as inventing stuff in a pathetic attempt to keep their 'us against the world' schtick going..

Even a Super Bowl victory is apparently not enough to rid them of the inferiority complex.

Like you guys both said... Galloway was laughing at the Giants, asking why a world champion would be so obsessed with us if we weren't in their heads?

Who in the H-- cares what the Giants think. it's the Cowboys who are looking for payback against those punks. they have rubbed it our our face and talked trash all summer long. i want the Cowboys to stomp their sorry A-- into the ground this year. i cant wait.

Well, to ignore the impact that emotion can have on a game, even in the pros, is a bit naive. One case in particular, Favre's game after he lost his dad -- the Packers were obviously super-amped for that game and it showed on the scoreboard. And there are countless others.

So it's not necessarily a "schtick," especially if it works.

But my REAL point is, WE should be the ones super amped-up heading into the matchups against the Giants this year. WE were the ones that lost the friggin' playoff game and I have heard countless times how Cowboys players are "sick" because of it. If the Giants players can use this "schtick" and come out more fired up than we are this season...

...what the hell does that say about us?

That had better not happen or I am going to break my television. Yes, the big one. :LOL

there is no doubt we are in their heads.

And its pretty sorry. When we were champs in the 90s we always struggled with philly and I dont remember the cowboys talking about the eagles daily.

that game in november in ny is going to be a flat out circus.

oh and one more thing, It is great to listen to the cowboyszones own Brian Broaddus on the show. He is on right now talking about how many scouts believe scandrick is going to be better than jenkins.

If that's what the defending SB champs need to motivate them to beat Dallas, win the division, win playoff games and the SB....then more power to 'em.

Yeah, and he was on there most of the day yesterday, too. I even had a whole post typed up yesterday about stuff he was saying... He talked about exactly how the Steven Jackson/Julius draft went down and the Quincy release, among other things.

I guess I got distracted and didn't post it... Wasn't sure I wanted to open that can of worms anyway. But it was pretty interesting. I've heard Broaddus on here a hundred times, and he's never been this open.

BTW, I've actually communicated with him a few times, and he doesn't hate Parcells. Maybe there's someone else he doesn't care for, though... But I can't say who.

Come on, CL.

Give us the condensed version at least.

But wait, Mac couldn't possibly hear that guy yelling and just magically could hear Wade all of the sudden. At least so I'm told.

I don't know about Ireland... He wouldn't tell me any specifics.

The highly condensed version of the rest is that:

-- Buffalo kept calling back wanting that pick, and finally offered their first. Maurice Carthon was the one who convinced Bill to do it for a first, because he said there wasn't that much difference between Jackson (who had a low 1st round grade due to possible injury issues) and Kevin Jones, Tatum Bell, Chris Perry, and Julius (who had high second round grades).

-- Says Romo would've been cut if Quincy hadn't been relased. We'd just gotten Henson and too much legwork (and a 3rd rounder) went into getting him. Bill had Vinny and of course he was staying. Randy asked if rumors were true that the team knew Q had failed a drug test before they even went to camp, and Broaddus said no, that wasn't true. But he said that -- most provocative comment -- Bill didn't want The Q and Vinny competing in the same camp. (So that sounds like Hostile was right.) Randy asked about Parcells' comments to Babe last summer that he'd have cut Henson if he had to, and Broaddus said he didn't believe that, that they'd have kept Henson. Said he never remembered anyone jumping on the table campaigning for Romo back then.

Trying to remember what else... Those were the two big ones.

I guess I'm having a hard time following your logic. You call it "schtick" but then suggest you were PO'd at Mac for blowing it up into a story? Doesn't that suggest that you think it could be more than a "schtick" and might actually give them the motivation to beat us?

If it's all "schtick," why were you (and the others you refererred to) so PO'd?

Where did I call it "schtick"? Get your posters right.

The rest of your post doesn't makes sense.
