I actually thought Ken Hamlin played better after coming back from his injury. Yeah he doesn't get many int's but he doesn't get beat deep as often either. Gamechanging safetys like Ed Reed and Troy Polamolu are hard to find.

I could bet money with anyone that as long as Wade is our D coordinatory next year, Hamlin will be our starting FS.

The attributes Wade praises about Hamlin are things people don't even wanna associate with him.

If you listen to Wade talk about Ken, then you'll know he'll be his guy as long as Wade is still here. Wade talks about how much range he has as an overlapping FS. He talks about how he organizes everyone back there and how he brings a calming influence to the secondary.

Ken aint going nowhere.

yep, as long as jerry jones and wade dont sour on ken hamlin, he isnt going anywhere

Newman is way too small(5'11") to play corner.
Huh? you mean Safety of course, well if Newman was 5'11 230lbs would he be too small? If we was 6'2 and 180lbs would he be big enough? Is it his height or weight or what? Ed Reed is 5'11 Bob Sanders is 5'8", Troy Palawhatever is 5'11".

Please, please, please, please, PLEASE be true.

Hamlin is holding our defense back. Resign Sense at strong, cut Hamlin, and draft PLAY MAKER safety with first pick.

Honestly, I may even trade up if Berry falls out of top ten. We desperately need turnovers. A playmaking safety will do that.

Some people were crying at the suggestion of this 10 hours ago.

Mays is a SS
Earl Thomas fits the mold but is small

Thomas will be drafted top 15. We can forget him.

If they were to take Taylor Mays(i hope not) we have to get a better db coach.
We should get a better DB coach regardless.

I totally disagree with this. No one is holding this defense back except for this team's offense. When the offense turns the ball over or fails to score TD's or even a FG it puts tremendous pressure on the defense to hold. How many times did we get beat deep this year. Not very many times. If people are asking for a do everything safety you aren't going to get it in today's NFL. There are times when your secondary is going to get beat. There are only so many Ed Reeds and Polamalu's around. Our secondary did a pretty good job this season of not embarrassing itself.

Man I am so glad you guys don't run this team.

Hamlin is the quarterback of a very good defense. You may have noticed that while he was out, the defense got much worse.

i dont think Hamlin sux ...just disappointed he hasnt produced like his first season...we need at least one of our safeties to be a playmaker not just and organizer

Only game where the defense played poorly during that stretch was NYG.

:laugh2: do you actually believe those stats? you really think d-linemen and linebackers only missed 2-5 tackles all season?

Serious question...would you trade our 1st, 2nd, and next year's 3rd to move up and draft Eric Berry??? He would be the answer to our prayers. Can hit and tackle like a young Roy Williams and can cover like Ed Reed...

It depends on how they're credited. Is it a missed tackle if a defender who is being blocked gets one arm on a guy but doesn't make the tackle? If it's a clear opportunity to wrap up a guy, then it probably is fairly accurate (as far as what can be seen, given that what goes on in the middle of the pile cannot).

Anyhow, as long as each player's missed tackles are credited the same way, they're still useful for making comparisons. I'd be more interested in the missed tackles kept by STATS LLC, but PFF's numbers are the only ones available at the moment.

The answer is no and it doesn't matter what name is on the end of the question.
