Mosley: I was a lot more impressed with the Eagles going into camp

True. They got hot at the right time and many fans are carrying that (and the 44-6 asswhipping they gave us) over to this season. They seem to be forgetting they were a whopping 1/2 game better than us, even considering all the injuries and distractions we had last year. Why does everyone think they're some type of juggernaut?

Because they had a spectacular draft that is comparable to our 08 draft, and they added a Pro Bowl LT in free agency.

They also lost their great D coordinator, are having O line problems right now, are losing players left and right, have an aging QB and will be relying on VERY young WRs. Plus, Westbrook can't stay healthy. I think they'll be a good team, but I just don't think they have any more talent than we do. Actually, I don't think they have as much as we do overall.

Losing Jim Johnson and B Dawk will hurt alot - no doubt.

But relying on Jackson Kevin Curtis and Jason Avant isn't a bad thing. Maclin is too talented to be a non factor as well, even if he is young.

Westbrook may not stay healthy, but thats why they got Lesean McCoy. Dude is a baller and a perfect back for their system. He's there version of Felix Jones.

I think they have equal talent to us, yet it's funny how we're getting the 8-8 prediction, while they're getting crowned NFCE champs.

Philly's WR corp MIGHT have more potential than ours, but I wouldn't trade it for ours right now. They'll be relying heavily on a 2nd year player and a rookie. I would take Roy Williams over either one of them right now. Crayton is steady and reliable if not spectacular (and we know he isn't that). I also think Austin and Hurd have a lot of potential. This year will tell for those two IMO. You add in TEs and I'll take our receiving corp all day over Philly's for the time being.

That last sentence if my point. They're not more talented than we are. But, we have to show it on the field. Again, they were a whopping 1/2 game better than us last year and we were injury-riddled.

Jackson's wriggly, that's for sure, but it doesn't dismiss the fact that he's still very small-framed. Don't look to see him making too many high catches across the middle where he would actually likely be the most dangerous. It's easy to get a running start and go stride for stride with a guy on a deep pattern and break it up, but super hard to cover them underneath.

Lets hope Andy Reid doesn't figure that out.

Maclin will play the slot, they will rely more on Kevin Curtis who is a good player for what they do offensively if he can stay healthy.

For our offense, the only player I would take over the Eagles top 4 is Roy Williams and that is because he is a chain mover ala Irvin.

But Jackson, Curtis, Maclin, and Avant are better than any other receiver on our roster. Give him a year or so to adjust to actual defense (unlike the Big 12) and Maclin is going to be a stud paired up with Jackson. I'm not too happy about that.

I wouldnt say it's easy if they're a burner like Jackson but good point. Philly's WCO is a timing offense anyway so I wouldnt expect Jackson to be taking many hits over the middle on the short/intermediate routes. The ball will be put low so Jackson can avoid the hit.

Kurt Warner and the Rams were notoriously great at this.

44-6...........

Silly.

A few years ago, the Commanders touted our 35-7 loss as an indicator of how much better they were than us.

We came out the next year and beat them something like 27-7.....

We beat the crap out of Philly in game one (at their house) in 2007. By your logic, we should've crushed them the second game. We didn't.

The thing about that last game....a perfect storm of ineptitude.

They beat our butts. No doubt.

But that doesn't necessarily mean they're guaranteed to do it again this year.

Jackson doesn't scare me a great deal. I think we've got the talent at CB to take care of him.

BTW, says no one can cover Jackson and he's the best WR in the East. (Commence draft rue posts.)
He is still exactly what I thought he was coming out of college. Small and injury prone. Let's see how many years he plays in all 16 games.

Grain of salt.
Mosely wouldn't know if "he OL doesn't look as good as he expected" or not. Why is this "Blogger" qualified to go to training camps and make any statements on how an NFL player looks?

Say what you want, but he's spot on. I personally don't think the losses on defense will hurt them, they can always find a way to interchange parts on defense. The real weakness is their offensive line, where they lost both tackles this off-season and Shawn Andrews is definitely not right.

And yes, DeShaun Jackson looks good. Fantasy Football alert.
