Maybe they overspent for Adalius Thomas, but they've completely overhauled one of the worst WR corps in the league to one of the best for peanuts this offseason. They got Kelley Washington and Dante Stallworth to sign cheap 1 year try out deals. They got Wes Welker for a 2nd, who also immediately upgrades their kick return game, and now Moss for a 4th who's going to redo his contract. Just goes to show how easy and cheap it is to find WR's, for all those biting their nails and claiming we have to draft WR's in the 1st and 2nd round. Getting Moss for a 4th is an absolute steal. Whatever you say about Moss you can say about Owens, and they aren't going to give Moss $10 million a year like Jerry did.

Desperate? Nope, just really smart, proactive and efficient. And watch how Moss, who is only 30, just magically rejuvenates himself when he has Tom Brady throwing to him instead of Aaron Brooks. Talk about going from mcnuggets to fillet mignon.

you can tell that BB is getting desperate to get his fourth ring. He is doing things this year that he would NOT have done 2 years ago. Dillon was nowhere NEAR the problem Moss is; the money they shelled out for Thomas and the others is way more then they have ever spent before.

I agree it does have a hint of desparation, but ait also doesn't sound like the Pats gave up that much to get Moss. The Pats like the Cowboys of the early 90s have mastered the art of gaining extra picks in the draft. This has afforded them the luxury of making these desperate like moves. Once again they gained another 1st rounder for next season from San Fran.

The fact that Moss is willing to accept a pay cut may show that he may put in more effort. Moss is questionable, but the Pats receiving corps looks tons better at this time than it did at any time last year. Moss, Stallworth and Welker is much better than Reche "Bug Eyes" Caldwell, Doug Gabriel and old man Troy Brown(36).

Good!

Let the Pats load up all they want.

It'll just be sweeter when we beat them...in the SB.

If getting Randy Moss for a day 2 draft pick is "desperation", I wish we could make some desperate moves.

I'm really desperate. I'm willing to give up a 5th round pick for LaDanien Tomlinson.

ITs hillarious how people think this is a bad move for new england. You nailed it, they gave up a 4th round pick and he is going to restructure his deal, we had to completely overpay for owens.

And anyone who thinks new england will struggle, please sit down, you must not be feeling well.

Let me run it by you. Owens and stallworth out wide. Ben watson a serious deep threat on one side and kyle brady basically another offensive lineman on the other. Then they can throw it or run it with maroney.

They are going to be flat out fantastic. 13 wins is not out of reach for them. Please tell me how you approach that offense? How do you defend it?

october 14th is going to be our game of the year. moss vs owens again.

I couldn't agree more IR. Good post. I really like all the moves the Pats have made this offseason. In free agency, in the draft and in between days 1 and 2 of the draft. They are going to be the toughest opponent Dallas faces next season. I hope Wade's "pass rush" is enough to stop Brady this time with Moss (who ALWAYS kills Dallas), Stalworth (who killed Dallas last season) and the rest of his offense.

The first controversial incident that Moss is involved in will be his last. The Patriots insist they will release him.

It's quite possible that the definition of "controversial" will be redefined several times next season.

It was only easy and cheap because it is the Pats.

I have been telling people that the Pats are about to hit desperation mode like we did in the late 90's ...... trying to get that last hoorah!!

Randy Moss for a 4th
Joey Galloway for 2 #1s

Different grades of desperation I guess.
