Fans want and expect their team to win. And the QB get too much credit when the team wins and too much blame when they do not win. To quiet his critics Dak Prescott is going to have to lead the team to some big wins. Big wins in critical games and playoff games. He probably has the talent and can do it. But the question is "Will he do it?" Can the offense come up with big wins under his leadership? If so, the critics will be quietened. If not he will be like Danny White and Tony Romo.....just another long tenured Cowboys QB.

All he can do is play well in the playoff games. Which he did in 3 of the 4.

but I certainly understand the critics. Which includes me.

I was a big romo fan as well but the qb challenged fans will always blame the qb.

Easy answer. They all do it because they all said Dak sucked in the beginning and they are too small to admit they were wrong.

There are many who support him . I’ve argued with them many times. Some think while he suks at GM think he’s a good owner .

And then there are those who don’t hold him responsible for the lack of success this era. There’s another segment who believe he’s brought in enough talent to win .

How do you propose we get one of those QB’s?

Everyone wants a HOF caliber QB but about 25 teams at any given time ,sometimes more, don’t get one.

In the meantime the rest of the league who doesn’t have one of those QB’s try to find a good enough one to build around cause if you do you can knock off some of those greater QB’s with lesser teams.

Swapping out Jerry and Stephen with some real football minds would be an excellent start.

I guess you’ve missed a bunch of these threads and arguments then? There’s always a slew of homers going to bat for him in some way. And others not willing to hold him more accountable . And some agreeing he suks as GM but a good owner. Always amazes me the pushback I receive .

The last one Bob Haze started I said you’d think that the fact our owner has prevented this franchise from more success and continues to be our greatest obstacle is the one thing all Cowboy fans can agree on.

Empty calories. I think Dak is good but he is not in the league of Mahomes or Burrow. Lets not kid ourselves. He is unfortunately paid like a franchise guy which is stupid.
He is functionally equivalent to Cousins.

Thank you. I was being nice to the love Dak crowd. I mean we are stuck with him and this idiotic front office. I am not anti Dak, but I was anti paying him 40 million a year. Go back anc check all of my posts. I am hated by the Dakkers...
My simple analysis was from 2016 to 2020, even with his Franchise tag deal, the Cowboys had the best value at the QB position. In one stupid contract decision they went from best value per production to near the bottom.

Again take emotions out of the decision here. Where Dallas failed miserably was: These were all my points at that time by the way.
-They saw this same scenario play out with Jimmy G, Wentz,Goff, Cousins, and a bit earlier with Flacco. The smart teams zig while everyone is zagging.
-I would rather sign Fitz, Jameis, you name the middle tier QB who will give me 90% of Dak and I keep my options open.
-Like usual this FO does not know how to lead they just follow as they don't care about actually winning. Their goal is to be middle of the pack. They wont go 3-14 and try to potentially get a franchise guy, yes this draft did not have one but they are out there which is why the league is set at QB.

This is my viewpoint and I don't think Dak will break the mold. Again nothing against Dak but he will not be elite. We have seen him for 6 years. Can he get to a SB? Yeah if his coach was McVay or Shanahan, but not with keep the lights on, pastrami sandwich in his mouth guy. No way.
Yes I know Dilfer and Brad Johnson have won SB's this century, but they had historic defenses.. Do not fool yourself.
You need to have an elite, elite QB to have success long term in this league and even that is not a guarantee. Look at Rodgers. My problem with our mindset ties to this whole team culture.
There is a reason why this team has not seen a championship game appearance since the 1995 season, its the same reason this board fights about Romo vs Dak, or is Zeke going to come back to form, or you name the discussion. This team has zero leadership, zero absolute zero culture of winning.
We are as broke of an organization as there is in the league, just the majority of the fans dont wake up and realize it.
