The most concerning things are for sure the fact that Johnson and Maddox are probably out for the season and every team they play will attack their replacements.

I had a chance to look at the game again. The Cowboys could have had some sacks but Minshew threw the ball away quickly about 6 or 7 times just before the pass rush got to him. Those aren't sacks, but they are lost plays.

lol ... Is Minshew supposed to stand still and vogue -pose for a picture photo until our rushers get there ..?

are we gonna keep using that same lame excuse as " QBs throwing too quickly"
for a lack of pass rush ?

That's been several weeks and still going now .. Texans,..Jax ... Philly ...

Of course I wasn't speak of the last two games, only the Eagles game and the observation that multiple times Minshew dropped back, was rushed and threw the ball out of bounds from the pocket. He did it 3 times in a row to end one drive.

I'll take 3 turnovers versus 6 sacks plus a turnover. Other than Dak's derp moment, we dominated the ball security game. The defense was attacking, ripping, grabbing, tearing, punching, etc at the ball.

We couldn't run consistently against that front which should be little surprise given personnel. Similarly, we could not stop their run. Gallimore was getting absolutely blown up Nick Hayden Style.

Put me down for Diggs Bland Wright as our starters until Lewis comes back.

Eagles had ANOTHER game end of year with 6+ sacks.

Cowboys had ANOTHER game end of year with 0-1 sack.

None of our key losses are coming back. Front 7 looks winded.

Shame on the coaches for #11 having to get on a knee to tell those idiots to let them get their breath.

They could have done the same thing too on the 4th the Eagles ran for a TD. You could tell the defense is winded.

Safeties are going to have to save this season. 4 solid vets out who are key for the run and pass defense - NT, MLB, and 2 CORNERS.

Love the win, but this is parity. Only the hot teams go on now, or those who can survive the injuries. Jags at this point have a better chance to go all the way than our Boys if they can't get the momentum back.
Parsons didn't have to tell them. They were waiting at long as they could to call it so it would be a longer rest.

C'mon folks.

Cowboys shifted focus to run defense after giving up 207 and 240 to the Packers and Bears.

DEs rarely go past QB depth.
- Parsons had a couple of deeper rushes but in general they were very conservative rushes with a focus on contain.
- Same issue with stunts. They cut way back on the number of stunts they run because they were getting gashed by runs due to excessive stunting early in the season.
- Carlos Watkins is the starting 1tech with Hankins out. Watkins was on the practice squad at the beginning of the season.
- LVE is the best LB vs the run but he is out.
- Parsons played far more snaps than most of the games since he has been a DE. He had been averaging 70% of snaps while playing DE but played 96% vs Philly.
- Sam Williams out meant more snaps by other DEs.
- Philly had the QB making quick 1- read throws or kept in extra protection when they tried to go deeper. Minshew intentionally threw the ball out of bounds 3 times in a row at one point. i.e. 1-read, if not open throw it over the head a WR at the sideline.

Summary: For the playoffs they really need Hankins, LVE and Sam Williams back and Parsons rested. They also need to decide on the 3rd CB, Wright or Alexander. They started out with Alexander but Wright played 38 snaps vs 14 for Alexander.

Well analyzed and thought out reply. Good stuff. And makes me optimistic.

There's no solution, Quinn's defense is not going to suddenly start making it complicated for offenses. Only hope is that 1-2 weeks of rest for these guys will help them.

And that's my fear too...is that Quinn has reached his peak. And now that opposing OCs have caught on to the Cowboys' defensive strategies, Quinn doesn't have a counter. I see much less deception than earlier in the season, and teams have figured out how to slow Micah.

Basically, I hope Quinn and Moore are at their best in the playoffs, but it's hard to have faith in that.
