Most Despised Cowboys

Who are your top three Despised Cowboys ever? Could be due to on field struggles or off field shannanigans.

Mine:

1. Van Der Jagt. Guy was a disaster here. Missed key kicks left and right. Hated him since he mouthed off at Manning.

LOL, "Liquored up kicker"

2. Clint Longley. Was he the guy who got in a fight with Staubach? Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else. Nonetheless, l hold that against him.

Yep, punched Staubach and his ticket out at the same time. If I recall correctly, they were arguing about Danny white.

I wouldn't use the word 'despised' because that's too harsh.

But I was never a fan of Deion Sanders and his 'me-first' mercenary deal. Guy was the worst example of a 'team player' I ever saw.

I never liked Patrick Crayton either. Talked big, played small.

And neither of the Hambricks. Those guys epitomized the dark days after the championship run to me.

Troy Hambrick
Joseph Randell
Greg Hardy
Steve Burlein (for running his mouth)

Honestly I dont have a long list. Most guys that played for us I guess I just liked be default. Although Im sure there were some dirt bags I wasnt aware of.

I can't say I really despised any Cowboy
But I didn't want the Cowboys to sign TOO. And I was glad when the experiment known as Bobby Carpenter was finished.

Yes, thank you Im gonna have to add him to my short list. Then the waste shows up to intercept Romo in a monumental collapse vs. LIONS.

I'd put Patrick Clayton up there before Smith. Average WR who couldn't make a simple catch vs Giants...

Depends on your age. For some who great up with the Cowboys in the 70s Jackie Smith's name will always make their blood curdle. We've been reminded all through the years of Smith's infamous drop in the SB. He only played one season with the Cowboys and although he's in the HOF he's only remembered by most for that one tragic play.

Don't really despise anyone who plays/played for the Cowboys. I root for them all, but here are a few I was not enamored with:

1) T.O. - the dance on the Star.
2) Jackie Smith - The pain of that Super Bowl drop still hurts.
3a) Bobby Carpenter - See below.
3b) Alex Barron - Never thought we would get the bad end of a trade that included getting rid of Bobby Carpenter but somehow we did.

extra - Elvis Patterson - Went from killing us every time we played against him to killing us while playing for us (thank God it was only for 11 games).

Yep.... Jackie Smith. Don't wanna hate him, you just do!

Guess it takes more than one play for me. I can see that, but I guess not for others.

Antonio Bryant
Ratliff
Alan Ball
Devin Street
Crayton
Troy Hambrick
Flozell Adams
Greg Ellis
Terence Newman
Sam Hurd
Patrick Watkins
Tank Johnson
"big leg" Buehler
Mike Jenkins

All of them got on my nerves when they were Cowboys.

It's a play that's been etched in the minds of many Cowboy fans for decades. I still believe the fathom PI call on Benny Barnes was the most damaging play in that game but Smith's drop did cost us 4 points which is what the Cowboys lost by.

Oh, you mean by fans?

I could tell you but it would take an extremely long post to qualifyy each choice

I will mention one and explain after work and maybe the older guys can fill some detail.

Who remembers Phil Pozderac?

Barron was Doug Free before Doug Free arrived.
