Garrett should be fired tomorrow and Marinelli should be head coach. Heck at least fire Kiffin and make Marinelli DC.

Should have been a poll thread. For the record I would have voted NO.

lmao! Yes that is what I was thinking, we can put an end to this 8-8 BS by giving the job to the only head coach in NFL history to have a winless season! You have the bar very high dude!

No to Marinelli.

What I want is Callahan gone. Way too pass happy for me. He's the reason the run game has no committment, IMO. Did the same thing with the Raiders and Nebraska. Hate it.

Although I agree you might be able to get better performance from this team with a better coaching staff, it is really just window dressing. Need to fix the problems at the top first before any coach has any chance of success here.

Clearly Garrett is not the right guy (assuming there is a right guy that can win under Jerry) but OMG Marinelli?!? This is the funniest thread I have ever seen on this forum.

People are falling in love with Marinelli's approach, but he is really just an outstanding position coach and it works best on a small scale. I do not see anything that suggests he would be an improvement at head coach.

I really can't speak for others but I assume most are like me. You need a ticket to the dance first. Then you see what happens. The first goal is to win the East.

What I mean is that they are not seemingly too bothered by a horrendous Defense and everything else as long as we make the playoffs. Despite the fact that a horrendous Defense ensures that we are a one and done.
To me a team that is not complete is not finished. And nothing to be particularly proud of and above all else NOT SATISFIED as all too many seem to be.

Yeah, let's hand the reins to the guy that went 0-16 in Detroit.

Sorry to tell you, but if Lovie Smith gets hired next season, Marinelli is probably headed to that team.

Unfortunately, neither of these situations are probably going to happen, yet the vast majority of this forum would agree this would undoubtedly be a good move. And because of politics we are stuck with Garrett and Mr. "Bend don't Break."

Don't speak for me. Marinelli was 0-16 as head coach. Nobody is thinking that.

Fire Garrett and lose any cohesion this team has. Say what you want about the man's scheme, but the player's play hard for him. If he does end up getting canned (after the season) I don't want to hear any complaining when we go sub .500 the next season.

Completely agree.

I think the truth of it is that folks look at him and see the one coach on staff doing his job well.

What I'm more interested to know is where all the staunch Garrett supporters have gone into hiding?

Probably right next to the Ratliff fans...

I completely disagee with OP so im not one of those most. With the lead in the division in mid season you simply do not fire HC, that would be a very stupid move.

I think your assumptions are premature and faulty. I don't like what I'm seeing. I can't imagine anyone who does. I also know we can play well. I've seen too many teams including at least one Cowboys' team go from looking like this to being SB champions. AZ went to the SB with a lousy record. NY did and won it. AZ actually won that game but oh well. I'll admit I'm not too hopeful but that's predicated on the past 8 games even though we've lost 3 by a total of 5 points. I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic about the East and realistic about advancing to the SB.

lol Monte Kiffin as HC? This board would explode. He can't even call a good defense half the time. Now promote him?

p.s. we are in sole posession of first place.

I find it sad how the standards for Cowboy fans have slipped.

Now too many are quite content with just 'slipping into the playoffs'

The standards aren't lower. I demand a championship but getting to the playoffs is the first step. How many teams have we seen in the past few years go 9-7 or 10-6 and then get on a hot streak and make it into the Super Bowl? I find it much more sad that so many Cowboy fans are so defeated and beaten down that they think making the playoffs is useless.

We need to give Lovie Smith a try on for size, but in the offseason.

If I thought the Cowboys could win 3 or 4 consecutive games against winning teams, I'd agree with you. The Cowboys have proven over and over again that they'll find a way to lose. Until they prove otherwise, I won't believe it. Could they win one playoff game? Yes. I doubt they could go on a playoff run though. I hope they prove me wrong.
