McNabb, he keeps getting love from the media and has never made it, specially with the surronding cast he has had.

Rogers, Favre and rivers are defintely not over rated. just watch them play. Favre was the biggest story and biggest hype, but dudes, he had 4200 yds, 37 TD, vbs. 7 Ints....at 40....I take that any day of the week.

Eli Manning, he doesn't give me the feeling of comfort, but he benefits from having won a superbowl because of an awsome defense and a very lucky catch.

defensively, it has to be Peppers and Merriman.

Ben Roethlisberger

Good quarterback, however I don't believe he is a top 5 QB as everyone makes him out to be.
I rarely even hear Ben's name mentioned top 8-10 so I can't consider him totally overrated myself.

James Harrison. He's good, the system makes him great. Pretty much everyone Dick LeBeau has put in that position has racked up 10 sacks a year for almost two decades. Last year he looked like he was slowing down. He'll live off the reputation of one season (and one play, in particular) for a long time.

When its 4th quarter / crunch time Big Ben is on the short list of guys you want on your team.

Hes very average for about 3 quarters most of the time though.

He can really force his way into the endzone...

It's usually whatever safety is getting the most love from year to year. First Roy Williams, then Adrian Wilson, then Bob Sanders. Troy Polamalu is probably the least overrated of these guys but is still considered far better than he really is. For some reason this position gets overrated in a ridiculous way.

He'll break your heart the same amount of times that you'll love him.

He turns the ball over way too much, sorry if I think that's overrated.

So when Farve threw an int or barry sanders ran a negative play or reggie white failing to put pressure on a qb they all musta been over rated as they did that every so often and costed you a game once or twice.

I dont get your Bob Sanders hate at all.

Ya you say he's overrated NOW because he hasn't played

But when he was at the top of his game in 06 he was as good of safety as anyone else. He changed that Colts defense in the playoffs, helping them win a SB. He was tremendous in run support and impacted that defense greatly.

Is he overrated now? Eh maybe because he hasnt played in 2 years but if you said he was overrated in 2006 you would be the only person preaching that nonsense.

not to seem like im stalking your, but in 06 he was so on top of his game he started a total of 4 games...played a total of 4 games...he was so lights out he didn't need to play those other 12 games or in that super bowl that his team won with out him.

Interesting choices.. I got one for you... Peyton Manning.. 122 wins in regular season and just one ring... his brother has one ring and half the time in the league..

I think he's a choker of huge proportions.

It's pretty easy to make throws against the prevent defense.

Geez, I love how it is a player's fault he is surrounded by talent. If anyone cost the Chargers playoff wins, it was LT. The man doesn't step onto the field in any season that starts with a "p". Oh, Rivers hasn't won a super bowl. Guess Marino is overrated. Only ONE TEAM wins the Super Bowl each year out of 32 teams. I can't say a player is overrated because they lose in the playoffs. The same thing could be said about Romo. But I don't call him a choke artist. If he didn't play well during the season, we wouldn't even be in the playoffs in the first place. Same with Rivers. Same with a lot of players in this thread. How is Peyton Manning overrated??? He puts up great stats all year long, does it with an average running game, and an average defense. He runs his offense, practically calls every play, studies and practices like his job is on the line every week. You don't have to like him, but overrated he is not.

QFT!

He's made a name riding the coat tails of a great defense! Winning games vs. soft zone coverages because his defense kept them in the game... Where were the Steelers this season when their defense wasn't top notch?

He's Trent Dilfer with more longevity! :laugh2:
