Most Overated Player in the NFL

How is he "dominant"??? For his CAREER he has 6 picks and 15 passes defensed. He's forced a total of two fumbles and has 3 1/2 sacks (all sacks from the same season) Thats SIX years worth of work.

The guys the most overrated player in the league hands down, other than a blow up hit here or there, he's invisible on the field. On top of being made out of paper mache (he's played in more than 6 games twice in 6 seasons)

Unless you've seen the guy play you don't understand.

Stat's don't tell the story. And yes he's made of paper due to his playing style. That and the fact that he's 5'8.

Easily Favre....not only is he the most over-rated NFL player of all time, he is the most over-rated person in the history of all sports. I personally blame him for the famine in Africa and quite possibly the start of WW1 and WW2.

I've seen him play plenty, and no, I am not impressed in the least. He stinks. A total media creation.

he doesn't stink. when healthy he's a good player. but that's the problem is he can't stay healthy. he's only played a few games the last 2 years and I don't think he's ever played a full NFL season. but he did get overrated due to his espn highlights and his hype machine that came out of no where.

reading threw this thread I think Carson Palmer is the most overrated player. he gets put in the same teir with the elite qbs and has never deserved that.

For the folks who have said Favre is over-rated -- this season at age 40 he had a 107 QB rating. Does anybody know if a Cowboy QB in the past 50 years has had a 107 QB rating? I don't know but I suspect not.

Listen, I hate the guy just about as much as I can dislike an athlete, however, to say he is over-rated is letting your hatred get in the way of common sense.

Mike Vick.

Some might argue he's not overrated anymore, but I think he still is.

I guess if you use the Ken Hamlin logic of its ok for a FS to never make any plays and be regarded as "good" then your right.

Roy Williams had several seasons better than this guy ever had, and he was never discussed as DPOY. Sanders got DPOY over Demarcus Ware, and shouldnt have got a single vote, let alone win it. He's the absolute primo example of "overrated"

Favre went bananas this year at age 40 and you guys hate him so much that you still claim he is overrated? lol wow watch the games please.

dude... you just sound like a bitter fan that he won an award and a Cowboy didn't. I agree that him winning that award was a joke. Sanders did make plays but most of them were in run support. when healthy he is the best run supporting safety in the league imo. if you think he's overrated that's cool and I even agree with you on that. but to act like he's not a good football player is ridiculous

I dont get your Bob Sanders hate at all.

Ya you say he's overrated NOW because he hasn't played

But when he was at the top of his game in 06 he was as good of safety as anyone else. He changed that Colts defense in the playoffs, helping them win a SB. He was tremendous in run support and impacted that defense greatly.

Is he overrated now? Eh maybe because he hasnt played in 2 years but if you said he was overrated in 2006 you would be the only person preaching that nonsense.

He was a good player but overrated in terms of getting Defensive Player of the Year.

I've never said he's overrated because he doesnt play, I've said he's overrated because he doesnt MAKE any plays.

As for 2006, maybe their defense played better in the postseason because they played against some lousy offensive teams. The only team with half an offense that they played was New England, and they gave up over 30 pts that game.

Bitter? Huh? Nobody is going to convince me he deserved DPOY over Ware that year. It was a joke, Ware was EONS more impactful on a week to week basis than he was.

It's not like I think our guys should win an award every year, but Ware was robbed in 2007 and 2008. ESPECIALLY 2007, where the vote really shouldnt have been close.

I'm with the McNabb crowd. The guy made a living out of dump passes to Westbrook. Then he just continues to choke whenever the opportunity arises.

I would say Adrian Peterson his fumbles have been very costly to the vikes.

Ben Roethlisberger

Good quarterback, however I don't believe he is a top 5 QB as everyone makes him out to be.

When its 4th quarter / crunch time Big Ben is on the short list of guys you want on your team.

Hes very average for about 3 quarters most of the time though.
